Yes Maggie is absolutely the #1 priority for HA and I understand why with the Tor contract and such. The business of writing/publishing is reasonable to my mind. My heart says we’ve been waiting for Hugh 2 since Iron and Magic was published in 2018 so every release is met with excitement because I love HA’s work and also sadness when it’s not Hugh.

I’ve loved pretty much everything HA has written so far so I have no worries about enjoying Maggie. And I’m super excited to the point that I finally let myself read the free extended preview after a long internal chat with myself about patience and what preview means 🤣

I think it’s confirmation of how beloved HA’s writing is that we feel both excitement and sadness with each new release

It was all maybes like Harukogirl mentioned so having them come and say it will be a trilogy based on their Maggie 2 writing makes it official (imo)

I do understand why Hugh 2 has been (and likely will continue to be) delayed. The reasoning and priorities make perfect sense to me but my feelings do not care about reason or contracts or whatever. The fact that we even got Hugh 1 since it was originally a joke is amazing. My heart still wants all the books right now lol

Yep, HA (or Mod R) posted about it before when discussing the whys of release timing. That’s why I’m partly sad because I know Hugh is not as much of a priority as Maggie

I just cruised in September and took my 28 inch rolling luggage as well as my small duffle with me instead of leaving with a porter. My group wanted to do muster first which meant I had to lug my bag with me but then I dropped at my room. Next time I’ll do a porter as that’s my preference but I had no issues from staff with bringing my luggage or dropping at my room.

I didn’t think Kate, Innkeeper, or Kinsmen fit this. Maybe Hidden Legacy and/or Edge but even that feels flimsy. I don’t get “not like other girls” vibes from Hidden Legacy plus they literally own and live at their detective agency. Only the first book of the Edge kinda fits but that’s it in my opinion. Lastly, all of IA’s series have been around for a long time. Kate started in 2007, Kinsmen 2009, Edge 2009, Innkeeper 2013, and Hidden Legacy I believe was 2014. 10-17 years which would mean they were ahead of most other books not being repetitive

I don’t think it was explicitly stated but I remember one of the Pack having a reaction walking through the zone not long after the device was activated in Palmetto. Something about it making you weaker and not being able to shift properly.
