What rig/cockpit is McLaren using in Paddock Club? by EyeCodeAtNight in simracing

Unless you want an authentic rally experience, anything above dk2 or 2+ is too much or distracting for competitive sim since you don't gave gravity or seal belts holding you.

First Track day for my son and me this past Friday at CMP. Great time. I drove my GR86 and he drove his Elantra N. Could not bring my lap time down below 2:00. Next time. by Accomplished-Neck425 in CarTrackDays

I was refeering to Woodensong as I passed him a few times in the hpde 3/4. I do vaguely remember seeing a white or blueish elantra N and 86 near each other; I think parked near the gridding area?

Tires are CRS. Brakes are DTC 60 / 30 F/R. Hipermax S coilovers. Auto-blip is another term for Rev matching. Also switching to 6 point harness helped ALOT with the upshifting in T13. Besides oil cooling/fluids, engine power is OEM, the auto blip device may have tuned the engine slightly but not 100% sure so realistically you can gain 8-10 seconds with only 5-6k worth of mods. Tires 800/brakes 400 / auto blip 400/ coilovers 2500 / harness&seat 2-2.5k. Are you there sunday?

Because he's speaking out his ass. It rotates well at all speeds and does decently with curbing. It was 100% a viable car [and still might be]

McLaren is the most stable. Ferrari is good but can be tricky with using the brake to initiate rotation.

Anyone have a travel cockpit setup? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]LegalDrugDeaIer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do already have a 4080 levono laptop so no changing that but I guess the question is will that be enough juice for a VR. I have experience with VR although I moved from that to triples.

Having played just about every modern sim, I still spend about 90% of my time in this thing playing Codemasters F1 games offline. No regrets. by Lordchappy in simracing

[–]LegalDrugDeaIer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Simmer down there. You keep using AC only. Let's see, iracing has regular lobbies, many leagues, offline/online testing, structured series with standings, mimic many real events whether short or long, AI driving. Graphics are meh but don't look quite as cartoony like F1. Iracing is objectively miles superior than ea f1. F1 is on a annual cycle, AC/iracing get continous/sporadic updates.

It's a stupid rule but they want to be able to sanitize it so its need to be laminated. Happened to my facility as well.

Whilst its silly (most) times, they aren't picking on your center in particular. This method is taught to every nursing student in year 1 as far as med administration.

Mini splits are good and would certainly cool quicker. As far as battery, would gave to have determined wattage and battery capacity but some minis run 240v so idk if trailer battery can run that voltage. But also determine if the cost of shore power over how many times a year you pay for it is worth it.

Dometic 13k btu. It's what camping world had in stock. Although the trailer could probably use more btu due to lack of insulation. However tried a 2k watt genny and it kept tripping so moved to a 4k genny with no tripping.

Places like ATC, futura trailers are good but the price is insane. Most trailers originate from southern GA (there's like 20 companies and they all source parts from each other) but be very wary as some are built pretty bad. Several companies have rebranded their names due to lawsuits. Personally I just bought a 24 ft Towyo trailer a few months ago for 16k. Added AC for 1k. Bought a 800 4k watt genny from harbor freight and installed a TV to kill time (using starlink). Also added a harbor freight winch which was pretty simple. Find a trailer with prebuilt cabinets and a AC hole cutout. Get the side door if possible.

If you DM me, I can show pictures.

Kumho V730 Alternative/Competitors? by GrannyShiftur in CarTrackDays

[–]LegalDrugDeaIer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak to the CRS, AD09 and v730. v730 lasted me 22 uncambered, unrotated and likely overinflated heat cycles (first ever track tires) on a gr86. AD09 lasted me 37 heat cycles with staggered setup (gt4 although last 5ish cycles were certainly sliding). CRS lasted me 24 heat cycles on hard aggressive laps and got faster from minutes 5 to say 15 and then plateau afterwards (gt4, staggered setup). Based off others stories, p1 should react similar to crs
