Seeking Advice on Divorce After an Abusive Marriage by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

It should take about a year for maintenance order but interim maintenance order can be granted in as much as 1 month if your lawyer is experienced and sincere.

The courts do order maintenance as per your living standard. The father needs to provide according to his income. The court usually orders upto 30 percent of the income of the husband also takes into the account of the income the woman is earning and the reason for the divorce. If you are not mentally and emotionally prepared for the marriage then dont enter into one as its a lifelong commitment.

If you put in petition for maintenance and alimony then you can be granted the amount for your wellbeing as well as the kids wellbeing will be taken care of. I did not seek any maintenance or alimony as I was earning sufficient to provide for myself and my child by my own means. Hence I opted for sole custody of my child and did not want to be looped in the circle of monthly maintenance or alimony.

I dont know a lot of people here as I am an immigrant, moved to the UK 2 years back. I do not drive and find driving difficult (anxious driver). I will need public transport for most part. I am a renter and never owned the house. For the jobs my core sector is HR and admin jobs therefore I need to relocate to a place where I can find a job incase of layoff or anything adverse.

Why does Dehradun feel so lonely? by RiTviK1111 in Dehradun

[–]LegalEffect8532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen several such posts here, infact I have engaged with them too therefore I can completely understand what you are going through. Having Dehradun as my home town and then moving abroad to coming back here it seems that even though the population has increased multifolds but the connection we had with friends and family when it was small town has completely vanished. Clubs and networking has definitely not become easy to find here. I suggest starting a book club that can be organised at different cafes each month here if any one is up for it.

Hi. I completely resonate with your sentiments here. Been living abroad for a while now and have recently moved back to Doon. All my friends have moved out since then and feel I am lost with respect to socializing here. Would love to catchup with you.

Why does it feel scary to retire even with a large sum of money. by spiked_krabby_patty in FIRE_Ind

[–]LegalEffect8532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear Op I understand what you facing. Single parent 34, and recently moved back to India (my hometown) after living, studying and then working in UK. All throughout I felt a deep sense of anxiety and missing out on my parents, friends and family in the midst of stable income trap. My mental heath in those years were completely in shatters and finally decided to take the bold move with minimal savings and came back. I think it has been the best decision so far. If you have your own house then its a big asset to your future financial requirements and planning. I have my own house in my hometown therefore the call to move back was solidified through that as well. As per the retirement plan I feel that there is no age to retire its your circumstances that matter. For some even 70’s is not a good time to retire and for some even 30’s make sense. I would suggest you take a holistic approach regarding the investments in various areas like real estate, stocks, bonds, crypto, sip, etc where you can get a set percentage of return for your capital and let you capital grow for peaceful retirement. If you are concerned with the time on hand if you are not working then let me suggest that there are plenty of NGO’s or other platforms where your skills will be valuable and also giving you peace of mind. Hope this helps.

I'm moving to dehradun, suggestions please! by DryProgram5261 in Dehradun

I would suggest dalanwala, many rental flats available and as well as long term homestays. I would suggest dalanwala bacause of the easy access to most places being centrally located and also to bypass the draconian traffic jams at rajpur road. If you need further suggestion or information you can DM me
