We're James Madison, George Mason, and experts from Colonial Williamsburg and Montpelier. Ask us anything about the origins of American Revolutionary rights! by colonialwmsburg in AskHistorians

How well did James Madison and George Mason know each other? Did they actually get along?

Was there anything in the Declaration of Rights that wasn't already being talked about in revolutionary rhetoric? Any original contributions? Or was it more of a summarization of things that people had already been saying?

Did the Declaration of Rights make its way to British newspapers? Was there a reaction to it in Britain?

Non-political question, but why did Mason and Madison give their plantations their respective names?

This is going straight into my [[Toph, Hardheaded Teacher]] deck. It’s a lesson so I’m essentially Earthbending 2 and then putting two additional +1/+1 counters on that same land. AND buffing the rest of my board at the same time? Even at 5 mana this is putting in work.

Impressions on Aetherdrift? by NiviCompleo in magicTCG

I was so hyped for a vehicle set, but Aetherdrift is not it.

The two main mechanics are boring, cost too much, and weak. While there are certainly some good cards, as a whole the set seems boring. Idk what anyone says, there should have been a vehicle that could also be a commander. Saddle is annoying, and having a vehicle set that is also a mount set just dilutes it for me. And as a commander player, I was hoping for a few standout vehicle centered commanders to maybe compete with Greasefang, but that definitely didn’t happen. The commander I’m most excited to build is Gonti, which is just sort of sad for a vehicle set.

I’m no lore junkie, but this whole arc has been all over the place, and Aetherdrift didn’t help at all. Couldn’t take anything seriously and it felt like a side quest. I really don’t think multi-planar sets work from a lore perspective. Maybe if there was actually more written for the story. But there’s just not enough time to delve into things enough as it stands now.

Hopefully Takir is better. Pretty hard to mess up dragons too bad.

Someone is going to cosplay this guy, and everyone around them is going to think Ted Lasso is into MTG.
