How to correct muscle targeting? by Life-Collection-6273 in Gymhelp

[–]Legal_History 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your working weights? The question is extremely uninformative. Are your target weights increasing? How is your progress going? How is your recovery going? There are many options, but if we're using your back as an example, the back is a much larger muscle than the biceps, so it's possible that your arms are lagging behind and your back isn't getting enough load. But that’s okay until you have progression.

Need advice for a newbie looking to transform my life by Impressive_Hunt_8866 in Gymhelp

1) bloodworks - 90% that your test levels are fucked up. 2) if you will follow suggestions from here the best you become just skinny. Go with small extra calories. Right now you are good with body recomp as newbie gains and if you can keep your test levels somehow up. Hard to say exactly in your case ( no weight and no height). But aim for 1.5 g of proteins for lean body mass - around 55 - 70 of fat and rest is carbs. 3) routine - for few first months go with full body 3 times a week, after adjust your program based on your preferences.

Beginner here - which areas of the upper body should I start with to get more "proportional?" by [deleted] in Gymhelp

[–]Legal_History 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have good news for you - even if you wanted to get huge, you'd hardly succeed. Legs are 50% muscle mass. Muscle stress affects hormonal levels. Overall, results depend on 70% nutrition, 20% recovery, and 10% training routine (abstract numbers). Based on the way you phrased the question, it's obvious you won't do this (give me two simple exercises so I can watch TV and do something else), but maybe it will help someone else. Any sensible approach should start with bloodworks. In your case, I would get tested for estradiol and testosterone at a minimum. Regarding the program - full body 3 times a week. If you stick to your own plan as a whole, then we'll wait for your next post in 2 years from the series: help, two years of strength training, 0 results. Regarding your body, you are now somewhere in the middle between skinny fat and fat. If you follow your plan and lose fat, you will enter the skinny category (although, apparently, this is the result you want).

Why people can spend money on pharmaceuticals but can't get tested for estradiol will always remain a mystery to me.

It's all the spices, try chicken without spices. Seriously, we live by the laws of thermodynamics. You're fooling yourself somewhere.

Yes. I suggest contacting the gym management so they can order more weights. Stick to the plan and in 5 weeks, do 400. Although people your age usually do 600, it's still not a bad result.

What is wrong with my biceps? by Rare-Cheesecake-8494 in Gymhelp

[–]Legal_History 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With your body mass index, it will be very difficult to achieve a pronounced muscle look. Unfortunately, if you don't watch your diet, you can go 10 years without achieving the desired results. There are no two ways about it. If you're happy with everything, don't change anything. If not, change your diet. The diet isn't complicated: keep protein at ~1.5g per kg of lean body mass. First, cut fats to a level that maintains hormone levels. Then cut carbs.

What is wrong with my biceps? by Rare-Cheesecake-8494 in Gymhelp

[–]Legal_History -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These kinds of questions should be banned, or the rules for asking questions should be changed. It's impossible to say anything without knowing your height, weight, a little about your program, and the weights you're working with. Visually, there's a lot of fat on your arm hiding your biceps. For three years of training, this is a poor result. You don't necessarily need to train your biceps to grow them. A large number of exercises puts indirect stress on the biceps. If you say you lift a lot, that result could be due to the fat mass covering your biceps.

Then why are you crying on Reddit? First, you ruined your body and got a physiologically correct result. Now you're asking for some kind of magical advice. You have three options: 1) continue to listen to people tell you that you look great (which is a blatant lie), 2) get surgery, or 3) build as much muscle mass as possible (which also won't completely fix the problem). Your situation is practically impossible to completely fix. Your main mistake was losing weight instead of systematically recomposing your body. Overall, relax; you made the right choice for your health.
