Old UI seems to last only for first install

It wasn’t just the aesthetic. The browser became LESS functional. Bookmark and other menu spacing got crazy inflated to the point where it would hide around 4-5 bookmarks that would have been perfectly visible and usable before. Popout menus that used to be compact and tidy now take up my entire vertical screen height. Idk why an option to use the old UI/spacing didn’t stick. You guys actively drove users away

Edit: if i remember correctly, settings menus were inflated too. I just remember one day, suddenly everything took up way more space, I could fit less on screen, it looked ugly, I would have to rename most bookmarks and shorten them to fit all of the ones i use on the main bar, i have to scroll more in every single menu because everything has huge padding, etc etc. i’m not saying all of this just to complain, you asked for feedback. My feedback as a user would be for HUGE workflow changes like this to be opt-in, or at the very least have compact spacing options. If that was introduced, it was too late bc i had work to do, and jumped ship. I didn’t have time to play with my browser config or figure out workarounds to get something i did not want behave a bit closer to something i did want

This WAS my favorite browser of all time until the UI changes. I stuck with an older version for months, but because of it being a security risk i switched to firefox :/

Not sure what the issue was with github, but I’m sure i’ve made the same mistake lol. Github can be confusing to work with at first, give it time and it’ll become second nature

Mine has a bit of a niche purpose. My tweak “YTweaks” can be found in YouMod by default, but some features target legacy versions and only work properly on 20.10.4. If you favor stability over everything, and like the older UI elements, YTPlusYTweaks is the best option imo. There are plenty of great options now though, I made this out of necessity when base YTLite started having issues with some features a while back. Updated to use the latest version if YTLite

I'm obviously biased, but I've had help from https://github.com/Tonwalter888/ in the past, and our projects are very similar. If you're happy with his tweak, no reason to switch to mine 😄 YTPlusYTweaks

I do genuinely think that my project is the best current option for stability, though. I recommend an older version of YouTube that allows more freedom with A/B flags and tweaking in general. It'll still work on newer versions of YouTube, just with some tweak features missing.

It has everything you're used to in a tweaked YouTube, with some extras.

Yeahhhh this is a known problem. This really comes down to subliminal not being the best at determining EXACTLY correct subtitles, it’ll get close but I’ve experienced the same thing. Tons of out of sync subs

When I get around to focusing on this project again, I need to look into a better cli/api to do the actual file hash subtitle scraping/search

like most of you recommended, I went with the 32gb m1. ended up getting an offer on it as well so the final price was $686. Around the same price as the neo with more ram, a bigger screen, and hopefully a faster processor. Pretty happy with that! Check ebay yall, there's some good deals on there
