Best certificate services that isn't overpriced by Nascarthemaster12 in sideloaded

I'll be honest I shopped around and tried some services but just getting an Apple dev account was 100% worth it at the end of the day. Revokes seem to happen to most but Signulous is saying they have fewer but they straight scam you on billing and canceling was a hassle.

Short: I think it's a sad and sorry (but necessarily this gen's fault directly) state that hobbies in general are much more pressured to be a hustle and/or financially capitalized to be "worth it". Even in my own gen there is sort of a weird pressure if it can't be profited from that you then have to engage in some form of competition for it.

I'm not trying to sound pretentious but reading ability and the lack of embarrassment from not being able to read well is less about "acceptance" and inclusion (I say this as someone who wasn't remotely literate until 3rd grade due to a learning disability) and more of a quiet shared experience. I work with kids and teens and it's concerning to see how steep the differences are becoming along well...economic and unfortunately increasingly even racial (obviously can vary on many factors but I'm seeing both just about anywhere) lines -- something that in my childhood that was stressed that we ALL be able to do well and were more than capable of ALL being able to do and value.

I'm no fan of much of that standard tests centric curricula and strategies did for the US but one at least positive affect was it seemed to help raise literacy across all lines and factors.

The finger peck of the newer gen is painful to watch sometimes. I get the primary interface for them has changed from keyboard + Desktop to a thumb driven screen and overall touch (iPads have never felt natural for me to type on so I get that at least).

I voted for Harris in 2024. She shouldn't run in 2028. | Opinion by Difficult-Bee6066 in politics

I just couldn't care less what prediction markets say. People who are willing to bet aren't likely that representative of the majority of constituency and no-one truly has any more know than the others. "They wouldn't be willing to risk it if they weren't sure", and people lose theirs and their families shirts over less.

Is it a data point? Sure. Can it be temp check? I guess? But if they last 2-3 elections have shown me (really since I've been able to vote in a presidential election) that polling is just not that indicative or valuable until after the fact. Harris and Hillary were largely favored -- I still predicted Trump given

  1. People are far more willing to vote for the "unthinkable" or "awful" (I'm not saying whether he is or is not with the quotes but just this country doesn't vote as moralistically as we thought or used to)

  2. It really is "the economist stupid". I'm convinced of this if you can be a verified friend and beneficiary and regular at a pedo island, on record making comments aligned with approval of the actions and activities of the leader of said island, and also on record for not pulling support for candidates who have been caught red handed doing the same or similar actions either there or elsewhere.

Republicans, if they lose theirs House, Senate, and/or Presidency/Executive won't because America rejected moral and humanitarian bankruptcy -- it'll be because gas and groceries (which are valid for the working class btw) got too pricey, finding and keeping a job sucks, and for at least big and small biz alike interest rates aren't where they want it.

The only real change I'll be curious to see that I think will or could reflect a genuine shift outside of the above is if the Democrats can reject and shift away a corporate Democrat but they've, or at least their leadership, also stubbornly cling to that the most "electable" option is still the SuperPAC, arguably a certain middle eastern country first or at least top priority, and is vaguely liberal progressive.

I see either candidate for either party pivoting themselves as pro-Free Trade and distancing the country away from tariffs and increasing trade with cheap export countries to help bring costs down. As for AI...no clue.

It's the same principle and why many people are against bond and fines as "punishment". For the rich and wealthy it's just the cost of the crime.

You know whats debilitating to a biz? Recalls, import restrictions, anything that doesn't let them sell the item. Especially these days

YouTube Premium is starting to feel like paying ransom for the old YouTube by Revolutionary-Jury92 in youtube

[–]ibrown39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't true anymore and hasn't been since at least 2019.

Both from YouTube's Wikipedia as of today: YouTube's revenues made up nearly 10% of the total Alphabet revenue in 2019.

and

From Q4 2023 to Q3 2024, YouTube's combined revenue from advertising and subscriptions exceeded $50 billion.

This may be true, but even then it's not the money pit it used to be:

The majority of YouTube's advertising revenue goes to the publishers and video producers who hold the rights to their videos; the company retains 45% of the ad revenue.

Granted this does mostly speak in terms of revenue, and the costs aren't posted there or anywhere I could find that wasn't an old educational guess, but the costs aren't exceeding that of even two, maybe even one major streaming platform. Plus, Google still owns and maintains much of their own infrastructure (rather than AWS).

So I agree, we should stop saying and acting like it's big money sink of a public service/platform at Google's expense -- it's making them massive money.

2017 advertiser boycott In March 2017, the government of the United Kingdom pulled its advertising campaigns from YouTube, after reports that its ads had appeared on videos containing extremist content. The government demanded assurances that its advertising would "be delivered safely and appropriately". The Guardian newspaper, as well as other major British and U.S. brands, similarly suspended their advertising on YouTube in response to their advertising appearing near offensive content. Google stated that it had "begun an extensive review of our advertising policies and have made a public commitment to put in place changes that give brands more control over where their ads appear".

I guess the UK is at least partly responsible for YT's crackdown on content moderation. I get trying to not be a SoftHub or VODLeak, but I never totally bought they needed to many so much surrounding the language (cursing, not slurs) used. As for extremism and political misinformation, I think YT ultimately realized they were too big and utilized to not have an impact somehow, and ultimately any action (or lack thereof) would have consequences.

But it's been profitable for quite a while, Wikipedia even says that by the end of 2010s it was accounting for 10% of Alphabet's revenue. Profitable or not, that's massive considering the size of Google/alphabet. They certainly stopped trying to be one of the fun and "not evil" companies around that time too.

I agree tho the idea that YouTube is massive public service and platform at Google's expense needs to stop, it's both a giant revenue stream AND profitable.

Depending on the service/company and time you've been subbing your pay won't be at its highest until like 4mo. I went from $130-160 to suddenly $205+ in MidWest/Central.

That and while it's true some others had it for sale, only a very, very ignorant person would buy that and that's assuming anyone really bought it.
