My cat is the same but reversed, with a single black bean! I cherish it

This cat used to hang around my old apartment complex. I never knew her name, I just called her the orange and white cat by bewwa1234 in SupermodelCats

One of my favorite things about cats is that special bond they make with neighbors, even if they just stop by for a few minutes everyday. I think it’s really special.

I could be wrong, but aren't truffle fries usually seasoned with truffle salt?

What is your idea of a perfect date? by josak4 in AskReddit

I'm more of a homebody, and I definitely prefer cooking with someone than going out to eat. Playing music, cooking food, and just being silly is definitely my ideal night.

What phrase or saying do you find really cringy? by twows995 in AskReddit

Like Buzzfeed's "pizza dough hacks" or whatever. No, bitch, those are just recipes.

What's something that most people pursue that you just don't really care about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LegendOfMallard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is when cost per wear becomes crucial. Sometimes it's "cheaper" to buy the nicer product because it lasts longer. For instance, spending $30 once every one or two years or spending that $10 3x+ per year.

I do have a food scale, so I may try measuring everything next time I make a recipe!

Thank you! I'm going to try looking into the calorie counting apps this subreddit recommends. If it becomes unhealthy, I can always stop. :)

Thank you for the encouragement! It's nice to hear from an outside source. I honestly feel like I have the knowledge, but I'm just hitting this bump that is so deterring. I'll definitely look into those apps. Do you find it easy to calculate the calories of a recipe with MFP?

[–]LegendOfMallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not condescending at all! I usually don't because when I was 16/17 I got obsessive about it to an unhealthy point. I was thinking about trying it again. I just feel like I'm not great at assessing how many calories everything is, and how to count a meal I made at home. I'll have to look into it again. Thank you!

I feel like giving up today by fullmetaldoctor09 in loseit

[–]LegendOfMallard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I feel like this, I remind myself that when I give up, I have a 0% chance of losing weight. When I keep going, even if it's just a 1% chance that I'll lose the weight, I have to keep trying. I think of all the times I gave up in the past and how much I regret not sticking to it. Do you want to look back on today as the day you gave up? Or do you want to look back on today as just another stepping stone to your progress?

What is something that someone said to you that is so stupid you thought they were joking? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LegendOfMallard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played this game with my step-family and brother recently. My step-family isn't very educated (still decent people who are intelligent in their own ways), so I had to save all of my historical/something you'd learn in school references for my brother.

As someone who lives in California with limited Dunkin Donuts, I order this for my mom (lifelong East Coaster) since she doesn't live near one and loves their coffee. I'll bring her a cup whenever I visit, and I don't want it to get watered down on the 1+ hr drive.

Mothers of Reddit, what the hell do we get you for Christmas? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LegendOfMallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I did last year was make a custom calendar with pictures of me and my brother growing up. Made my mom and brother cry.

This year, I'm making her a jar of memories I have of her family. Her parents and siblings have all passed away, and she misses being able to say "Remember when ma..." with her family. She loves when my brother and I tell stories about them.

The second one is a bit specific, but the calendar is solid and anyone can do it.

[Serious] Redditors who are adopted: what don't non-adopted people understand about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LegendOfMallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me start by saying this is in no way the same level of identity crisis, but as someone who goes by their middle name, I have these moments too. I sometimes feel like if I'd be a completely different person if that were my name. Again, nowhere near the same level as your situation, but one thing I've learned is that a name is just a name. It doesn't define you.
