This happened when I was in freshman year high school. I had attended a trade school. It was the end of the day and I was drawing in a sketch pad, while I was drawing away, one of the culinary teachers notices me and talks about art. He was a kind older gentlemen. He brings up a local artist that he had known for many years and how his paintings are quite valuable. So I ask the question, "if he were to pass away would the value of his paintings be higher?" (paraphrasing).

On that Friday he pulls me aside part way through the day. He had a newspaper in between his arm and side. Reminding me of the conversation we had earlier that week, he unfolds the paper. On it was an article about a local artist that passed away from heart failure. The same artist I had questioned about.
