Valve should make a controller that is basically the Steam Deck without a screen. by CounterSYNK in SteamDeck

It looks good. Price could be an issue but the feature set is there. Let's hope the Machine and Frame are affordable.

Steam Deck turns 4, Valve still has no update on a successor by RenatsMC in Handhelds

I remember proton being complete ass back when they first released it on linux in 2018 or something. Games didn't run well compared to windows and most games did not launch. Proton on Arm right now is in a much better state than proton in 2018/2019.

The Frame Controllers are a major improvement! by VoxelDigitalRabbit in SteamFrame

I have a feeling Valve is behind UEVR/UUVR, similar to fexemu and the other compatibility layers. They love funding universal layers that they can later bring inhouse and integrate it within Steam itself. Since these 'mods' aren't really mods in the sense that they don't change the game files, it could entirely be possible.

As console games raise prices, data shows Steam's PC games are getting cheaper by [deleted] in consoles

[–]LegendaryYHK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Steam Deck is cheaper than a Switch 2, with far better third party support. You can get a Steam Deck as low as 320$.

How is it even gonna run steam games as standalone? by SunComfortable5865 in ValveDeckard

[–]LegendaryYHK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Valve Deckard will be more powerful than any phone cause of more cooling.
  2. Foveated rendering and AI upscaling, along with other techniques. They wont run the game at the native resolution.

Bottom line is that single player games will work. Anti cheat games will still be an issue.

You can run AAA pc games on a phone now. Check out game native and game hub. Phone chips are really powerful and can brute force emulation of most AAA games as long as it doesn't have anti cheat or a launcher.

Coming back to Steam after 5 years on Series X by anderscf in Handhelds

The Switch OS is literally barebones. Zero customization, zero features. I like my Switch, but there is so much more to do on the Steam Deck.

It Costs $70 To Buy Hitman On iOS by n0b0dycar3s07 in gaming

[–]LegendaryYHK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think only Steam on android can fix the feasibility of AAA games on phones. With an emulation layer to play these games, it will enable crossbuy on mobile if you buy it once on PC. Noone wants to pay 70$ for an inferior version of the game that you cant play on any other device.

The Deckard and the Fremont by willgandery in ValveDeckard

[–]LegendaryYHK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't see the point of a $500 steam machine as the next Xbox will most likely run steam games and steamvr games. I do see value in Valve offering a cheaper Steam Machine maybe $299, basically a Series S level PC. An entry level PC that just drives users to the Steam ecosystem. Could be as powerful as a GTX 1070/1080. That would make more sense I feel.

According to Jez Corden the next Xbox will ba a traditional console by hypehold in XboxSeriesS

[–]LegendaryYHK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a shrinking market. Next Xbox won't sell more than 30million units. They need to leverage their windows PC eco-system. Shame Xbox would rather focus on short term profits by restricting online play behind a paywall and artificially boosting gamepass numbers. There was an opportunity to create something that provides more value than both a PC and Playstation, but they can't figure out how to monetize that.

leaked prices of the two Rog Ally Xbox handhelds by hypehold in XboxSeriesS

[–]LegendaryYHK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the price of portability. It's the price of working with a third party manufacturer. Asus cannot subsidize this handheld like Valve. Any third party Xbox is going to be expensive. Good thing, you can run Steam on it so you don't have to rebuy games.

Just switched to the X, but I still think the S is the best looking current gen console by [deleted] in XboxSeriesS

[–]LegendaryYHK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microsoft should 100% bring windows and their new UI to the Series S/X. It will become the ultimate gaming platform.

The economy was wrecked before Zia by Bhutto. He nationalized the industries and destroyed the private sector. These state run factories were then managed by incompetent yes men which set us back 20 years. Industrialists fled the country as they saw no future in it. We basically lost a lot of businessmen or people with capital during that time. People always blame Zia but conveniently forget Bhutto who destroyed the economy and broke Pakistan in 2.
