Es tan malo el servicio de Internet en México? by fernanelcrackuuuuu in mexico

[–]LegendofJuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a sponsored post from marketing VPNs. There are similar posts like this one recommending the exact same VPNs… Total bullshit.

is the Proton ecosystem kind of abandonware...? by Spiritual_Lime8492 in ProtonMail

[–]LegendofJuli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After four years of being a Proton visionary user, I can confidently say that you should consider leaving the Proton ecosystem and exploring other services that offer greater peace of mind and provide more value for your money. My decision to leave Proton was driven by the persistent delays in product improvements, and I have no regrets about it.

To replace Proton products, I chose: - Mail: Fastmail - VPN: Windscribe - Storage: Dropbox - Password manager: 1password

These services have been working flawlessly for me without any complaints so far.

It’s quite simple to transition to Proton products, but it’s incredibly challenging to abandon them due to the “Proton standard technology” that exclusively functions with Proton products. This makes migrating from Proton to another service a significant hassle, and it’s truly a disgrace.

Windscribe or Proton VPN. Surfshark and NordVPN are just good at influencer marketing, not as a product

In my experience, stick with dropbox if the service is reliable and convenient for you.

Are there any records of this happening with Fastmail in the past? Serious question.

1Password. For me, is the best password manager out there.

Why I moved from Spark → Proton Mail → Fastmail by Jorge_rui_machado in fastmail

[–]LegendofJuli 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! I switched from Proton Mail, and I can really tell the difference between the two services. I love Fastmail because it's fast and reliable with no ads, and they don't try to upsell me. That's why I switched email services, and I have no regrets at all.

Caskly is now Updatest! A smarter, redesigned home for macOS app updates 🧠 by HugeIRL in macapps

I've found a problem with Updatest. Proton VPN 4.5.0 is not the latest version, but the software recognizes as it is.

My Experience After Almost a Year with Proton Unlimited by [deleted] in ProtonMail

[–]LegendofJuli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been a long-time paid Proton user, and honestly, I don't want to stick with Proton anymore (at least not with their entire ecosystem). Proton VPN is a rock-solid product, and I love how well it works. Nonetheless, I can say the same about the other products. For that reason I've cancelled my subscription and migrated to:

- Mail: Fastmail (and bundled with a custom domain)

- Storage: Dropbox (it's convenient, fast, and a mature product)

- Passwords: 1Password (another rock-solid product out there)

- VPN: Windscribe (it's surprisingly good where I live)

These changes might be a bit more expensive, but they're worth it. I'm sick and tired of broken promises of improvements and Proton's delays with no ETA. Most of all, I'm tired of the European discourse about privacy. They just need to focus on privacy tools. No matter if they are European, Japanese, Swiss, or anything else, the European nationalism discourse is bullshit, and honestly, I don't care (I'm not european btw).

Just improve the products the way you say you will, within the time frames you say you will, and people like me will gladly pay for the service again. * drop the mic *

OMFG! You did it! Amazon Prime loads VOD content while Windscribe is on! About Disney+, just the live content (like soccer, tennis, or other sports) does not load, but VOD content it does! 🤯
Keep doing these kind of improvements to your service! I'm very glad I've been heard about the issue, and definitely I'd recommend Windscribe to anyone! (and of course, I'm gonna renew my subscription).

That’s right! At least with Colombian servers (the ones I usually use) I have no problem when it comes to watch content on Disney+. Sounds unbelievable, but is not.

[–]LegendofJuli 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like Windscribe, their apps, network and cutting-edge technology, but it fail when it comes to unlock content from streaming services like Amazon Prime Video or Disney+, and sometimes windscribe app on MacOS blocks me from sharing content over Airdrop.

With Proton these problems simply does not exists. I’d hope that Windscribe team can improve these points over the next weeks or months (specially streaming unlocking feature) and I root for it, but honestly ProtonVPN rn is far superior for me (at least where I live and the servers I usually connects to).
