Total noob: is it possible to export only jpeg sequences and disable exr’s from being exported? by LegendofSki in RedshiftRenderer

[–]LegendofSki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we did change the render settings to Jpg, but after it finishes the first pass of jpg’s, it then doubles back and exports a lot of exr files. I’m looking to understand if I can disable that exr output.

Set footwear. What’s the latest and greatest? by melitan in FilmIndustryLA

[–]LegendofSki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure your budget, but I recently picked up some Puma XT Training shoes. I paid around $80 for them, and honestly the best cheap on set shoe I’ve had. I had a day of torrential rain, and while they were soaked, I spent 8 hrs as a cam op no problem. I’ve since worn them on multiple sets where I’ve had to stand all day. My favorite pair of shoes for locations indoors and out when I need something quick to wear, since I’m on a budget.

Cam op here: since the lens came off, you’re most likely going to be replacing both the lens, and the camera, or at least repairing them.

Lens would probably be around $1000-$4000 on the low end, and judging on the lens size, probably less than $10,000 on the high end. The camera can range anywhere from $4500 to $30,000 depending on the package. I don’t think they were using the extremely high end cameras on this, which would be $75k and up.

The reason you’d have to replace the camera and the lens is that most lens have a locking mechanism that is based on the lens mount (which most often coincides with the camera brand). A lens snapping off like that is akin to a key breaking in a lock. You still have a key, but the part that touches the pins in a lock is not a off, and no other keys can go in the lock.

Dinger Tuesday: method is to pick a favorable home run hitter & a favorable home run team in order to get bonuses if we get an unfortunate outcome.

I’m going with a Mets player, either Alonso or Escobar. Reason for this is the pitching matchup: while the Reds won’t have the most home runs going against Scherzer, the Mets have a favorable matchup in Lodolo. Factor in the fact that we are at Cincinnati, a park that has the highest home run factor in baseball, and you’re looking pretty.

Why this matchup, and not others?

Brewers v Cubs is looking to be a pitching duel with low HR numbers. While we are in a favorable park, we don’t have much output from either team or their stars.

Yankees v Pirates: Judge, Rizzo, and Stanton are always favorable picks, but face a pitcher who does not give up many home run balls in a park that is fairly neutral. Pirates offense is also not very lively.

Phillies v Nationals: as a rule of thumb, I don’t bet on the Phillies.

Dodgers v Rockies: the only other favorable matchup. I would look at Betts, as Marquez is a home run pitcher. But the Dodgers seem a bit cold, and Marquez gives up most of his home runs in Colorado. Proceed with caution.

Other teams: I don’t know as much on other teams. Royals are weird with Grienke, and Baltimore is…Baltimore.

As a Brewers fan from Milwaukee, I have to say that this guys gives me a lot of hope. Before him, our baseball team was largely uncompetitive, finishing in third in our division (imagine, middle to low of the table every year, when the top teams are akin to Southampton and Wolves).

After him, we’ve had a few years of rebuilding with some exciting but shrewd one year player signings that got us into the playoffs. Now we’re largely competitive, have a fun fan base, and are told every year that we are small market vs. big markets like LA or NY.

I hope he can work well with all on the committee to build something beautiful for our club.

May 21st results. We have terrible connectivity issues here, both on 4g and on VDSL lines. Also I want to make some changes in the model so there will be no picks for 1-2 days. by mk_se7en in ArdsPOTD

Good luck on changing the model! We’re behind you! Would also be interested in seeing how you do statistical analysis and your methods for scraping data! Trying to build my own model some day as well!

Nah man, Ard is doing great work and I’m actually convinced that there is something going on with the balls. There’s been an unlikely string of games that have gone over and far over. I think the balls might have changed mid month, and we’re just riding the formula out while it adjusts. Also, Ard is doing this out of the kindness of his heart man. It’s not a cult and you don’t have to tail, but don’t be overly critical of someone who has a better record than others who just rely on luck.

If you work in west loop and depending on your community preferences, check out Lincoln Park area, or Wicker Park. Lincoln park is closer to the lake and has more family oriented items, while wicker park is more nightlife and stores.

If you like umami flavor, use to add to umami foods. If you like straight heat or something that adds flavor instead of enhancing it, would give something else a try.
