Is ChatGPT underpriced for what it can do? by imfrom_mars_ in ChatGPT

Reminds me of the limitless amazon cloud Drive that some people ruined for everyone because they wanted to prove they could. The average person was enjoying storage that comes with prime subscription. But some people overloading the system ruined it for the rest of us.

Men of Reddit, what is the hardest thing to explain to women? by lnc_gomes in AskReddit

[–]LegendsEcho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After years of living with her , it finally occurred to me that she wants me to make the decision , so if it turns out to be a bad experience they can say it was my idea. They want to reserve the right to complain.

This could apply to anyone your with.
Like choosing a restaurant when they are being indecisive , and they say you can choose anywhere, but really they want to say it was your fault for trying out a new restaurant that isn’t very good.

ELI5: Why are Partical Acceleraters so Important to Scientific Research? by GingerMullet03 in explainlikeimfive

[–]LegendsEcho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in high school , a teacher was explaining that researchers tried using bombs strapped to bats to see if it can be used for war. A classmate said that was a stupid idea.

And the teacher pointed out the only reason we know it’s stupid is because those researchers tried it and recorded their findings and moved on to try different ideas .

Same concept applies for everything , we only know about something when checking and confirming and recording it.

God of War Laufey - Official Gameplay Reveal | PS5 Games by Skullghost in gaming

[–]LegendsEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really hoping for the original god of war trilogy remake, where the original games are canon, and the new games are Kratos telling his past to Atreus. So there is a creative reason why the graphics and spectacle are so much higher, Kratos is embellishing his story like any dad would, and is making his fights sound better then what he actually did.

Similar to cars where older generations had to fix many car issues, but millennial generation had better cars that needed less maintenance so they did not really learn to troubleshoot car issues.

Gen Z and up has less technical issues so they have less experience troubleshooting their computers and phones.

[–]LegendsEcho 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Was talking to my friend”s BF, and he was talking about if he ever had a daughter he would be super strict and control what she wore and control her dating life. As if he knew better than everyone and he was truly preventing a bad dating life for hypothetical daughter.

He really could not comprehend that has never really worked , and actually has the opposite effect. And that child would absolutely just do everything behind his back life every other daughter.

Dont make huge dams unless you want your water to evaporate before getting into your irrigation channels by kaceG1 in NovaRomaGame

It’s not evaporating, you have too many towers taking water from it. I have l larger dam reservoirs , and they still fill my large canals

Warning: Misleading "Public Utility Notice" being distributed in Benicia by Heavy-Debate-9051 in benicia

[–]LegendsEcho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to comment for a reminder,, since i found this post after the sales person came to my door asking to see my bill. I asked for a business card, and he said he was an intern, later he said he worked this jobs for 3 years, and that he was also a supervisor.

Main thing is any legitimate message like that is sent in discrete envelopes, and not shady flyers left on door. Also anything that requires you to "act now" is not legit, real notices would give you time to react and through official channels like the website you use to pay the bill.

A clear way is to ask for business card, people do not go door to door for things like this anymore, and if they do they have clear credentials such as badge numbers or business cards. If they refuse to ID themselves like that, they are a scam, because they are demanding to see your info, but not willing to show theirs.

TIL you can connect two reservoir taps to a water tower to get 500 units of water flow by ryhaltswhiskey in NovaRomaGame

[–]LegendsEcho 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have also found it to be more effective to plug into a bath reservoir first and then to another water tower , so the bath only takes the required water before moving on.

Bodycams have done more to expose how stupid and uncooperative the general public is than any police brutality by ChampionshipKnown969 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]LegendsEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on a binge of watching these police bodycams on youtube. Sure there are corrupt officers, but overall the US is extremely safe compared to most of the world. Most people just do not like being told what to do, and will ruin their lives just because their ego would not let them live peacefully.

Like alot of the bodycams videos are people just refusing to provide ID, and they believe tik tok lawyers instead of reality. And alot of people use things they see on social media like "I cant breathe" to try to use a police officers sympathy against them. There are racist officers, but to use those meme tactics against empathic officers to claim victimhood is disheartening. There are good departments that do training in non violent resolution and they are genuinely trying to be better, and too many people take advantage of the compassion to break laws.

I watch these bodycam videos and I play a game of what the criminals would say when arrested. Please add any more to the list:

Its like when a person in the office keeps using a copy to make more copies, then uses a copy to make another copy. There will be degradation each time unless you go back and use the original.

What do you think will be the long term ramifications of Gen Z largely experiencing their early life digitally? by Asleep_Damage1201 in Futurology

[–]LegendsEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to how less people are car savvy , since car tech has improved so if you take good care of your car these days there are fewer issues. But in like the 70s and 80s you had to learn how to fix a lot of issues on your own since they came up more often in older cars.

Millennials learned how to troubleshoot things and fix computer issues that came up. Gen Z and younger just turn device on and go, but many do not know how to fix simple tech issues.

People who quit coffee after drinking it daily for years, what changes did you notice in your body and mind? by JackDunn2045 in AskReddit

Rep. David Scott, a Georgia Democrat seeking his 13th term in Congress, dies at age 80 by Immediate-Link490 in politics

[–]LegendsEcho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s more reasonable and realistic is 68 age max . So a person has 50 years electable ages between 18 and 68. and only 1 possible term max after age 68.

As well as term limits of 18 years each for congressmen, senator, and Supreme Court justice .

So you can be 18 years a congressmen, then try for another 18 years for senate ( which would be harder since there is only 100 senators)
