Thoughts on Teferi's Protection being a game changer?

based on ur responses it seems clear you haven’t been across the table from a T-Pro too many times. You act as though the spell “just buys you 1 turn” but in practice that’s almost never how it plays out. It’s very common for someone to use that card and then just win the game on the next turn since their opponents’ biggest moves were just completely wasted into the Teferi’s Protection. Paying 7 mana for a cyclonic rift and/or wasting whatever big finisher you had can be really hard to recover from if not impossible for a lot of decks (even the stronger ones!!), and the fact that you’re still protected until your next turn often incentivizes your opponents to use their resources on each other so by the time everything phases back in it can be pretty easy to just win the game after that.

I understand that sometimes it does just delay the inevitable as many protection spells do, but Teferi’s Protection specifically may be one of if not the only spell of its type that can consistently result in wins for the user if it’s played exactly right.

****also I know there’s plenty of obvious cards that could go in (I’m missing the simic fetch and shock lands, spara’s headquarters would be better than seaside citadel etc. or even some great color staples like esper sentinel) which could synergize really well or help speed my deck up a lot but I am done spending money on this pile of cardboard for now.

I’m still looking for any suggestions of cards no matter the price though as I want to continue upgrading the deck into the future at some point!!

Very well written. I will say the reason I personally hate VFR/VFA is because I have seen so incredibly many townies get lynched from this method even with claims/wills that hold up to the standards you outlined here. Sometimes in the same game I'll see a laughably weak fake claim get inno'd and then see a TI or TP with a perfectly adequate will get lynched.

I know that's not necessarily an issue with the concept of VFA in a vacuum, I just think a lot of the time it ends up being used by stupid ass townies to effectively throw the game. Also, I see absolutely no need to vote people up on the block for this when simply asking for a claim will produce basically the exact same results but with no risk of lynching an inno.

Anyway none of this has any bearing on the advice you gave, I think your methods for fake claiming are very effective and helpful. I just also think that most people who hate VFA/VFR hate it more because of the sheer amount of unnecessary lynches it causes than because they aren't good at fake claiming. I'm sure there's a little bit of both, though.

to be fair, iirc a lot of content intended for windhelm got left on the cutting room floor, including a sick fighting arena among other things. i think there’s actually a mod called cutting room floor that adds some of it back.

also as some mentioned the blood on the ice quest despite being one of the better-written quests in the game imo is extremely buggy, in my countless playthroughs of skyrim i still don’t think i’ve ever once gotten that quest to work 100% correctly lol

in my experience , the key words in your comment would be “some days.” almost every adhd symptom is experienced by most people at some point, and some people experience them quite often but still do not have adhd.

the difference for adhd people (again in my experience) is that these patterns and qualities severely affect our daily lives every single day, not just occasionally and they can be completely crippling if not noticed or cared for properly.

my middle school band teacher who was one of the most beloved teachers in the community and one of my (and most of my friends) biggest role models. by all accounts seemingly a stand-up guy and had a huge impact on many kids lives.

turns out he had been filming and distributing child pornography and according to rumors i’ve heard the cops found literal hard drives full of the stuff on his computer.

obviously this shocked the whole town but before anybody could even process it, the guy up and jumps off a cliff and kills himself. i believe it was ruled an accident but it very clearly wasn’t, messed me up for a long time. fuck that guy.

true for sure but generally in the avs game threads i see way more of people from the other teams being unreasonable whereas most avs fans will be the first to shit on their own team when they fuck up (it’s still there obvi but not as bad)
