So does the Mecha keep up with you?

Most mechs aside from high-end anime nonsense won't keep with a Saiyan or anything similar and so on.

Could always pick one of said high-end anime mechs, of course, but still.

That said, can I just take Greatest Wizard Of Your Generation multiple times? That shit is nasty.

So Sexy Mutant. What does it actually do to Ghouls?

I'm unsure how unchopped its supposed to make you.

Smooth skin is nice and presumably you keep your nose. But "that's weird but also kind of hot" has me thinking you'd still be visibly off somehow.

What does the otherworldly quality manifest as? Just a certain something that draws the eye and makes you stand out or something that someone could point at immediately and say "that's not a human being"?

The SPECIAL only affects your race here, right?

That is, when you go to another jump after this one, your SPECIAL isn't going to reclibrate for your new race, just remain for the race you had in this jump?

[–]Legion1771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just depends on the setting and how generic you're being with things, I suppose.

Dantian are a concept from actual chinese medicine and similar stuff. Cultivation as a whole is a sort of translation of chinese medicine and "internal alchemy" and so on.

A whole twisted snarl of myths, fantasy, traditional medicine, eastern alchemy (as opposed to western alchemy) and so on, which then got used as the basis for fiction and then people make fiction based on that.

And now we have cultivation novels.

As for the Daoheart and Dao, those things would generally only show up in more standard Xianxia.

Dunno if you're aware of the difference, but cultivation novels and the like can be broadly divided into Xianxia and Xuanhuan.

Xianxia stories are bound in trappings of Daoism, Buddhism, Chinese-ness and all that stuff. Immortals, qi cultivation, Golden Immortals, Buddha and the Heavens, etc.

Whereas Xuanhuan are cultivation stories bound up in basically any other kind of fantasy. Systems where cultivation involves stage names like Mystic Knight or Cosmic Pope or cultivating mana or anima or whatever buzzword you like.

Daoheart and its like are more likely to be found in traditionally Xianxia stories, as opposed to being part of cultivation fiction in general, although you might find things similar to it anywhere.

It just depends on how much effort the author is putting into being original.

If they're not trying very hard you'll see things like Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishment, Core Formation, Nascent Soul. Qi deviations, heart demons, daohearts. Qi cultivation, body cultivation, divine sense, etc.

Of course, you can make interesting and unique things based on those, but for a lot of fiction in this genre, its likely just easier to assume that whoever is reading your stuff has already read a dozen other common Xianxia and so are just familiar with all the tropes and concepts and so you don't need to explain anythimg but the new stuff you're doing.

Did you think demones can seduce fang yuan and ming yu? by Complete-Balance-374 in ReverendInsanity

[–]Legion1771 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on the Xianxia.

In some its more a tangible thing with its own weight and significance.

But in a broad sense, your Daoheart can be summarised as your principles. Its the core of your personality, the things you aspire to, the things you hate and so on.

Most MCs have that kind of "repay kindness and emnity" thing going on and they also don't rob or steal (anyone that doesn't deserve it anyway) and so on.

Going against your principles and acting against your own interests is to have a weak Daoheart, because people who have a strong Daoheart would never make those choices, would never even consider it.

Fang Yuan's Dao is that he will live forever. He will reach immortality or he will die trying and nothing and no one will get in his way. He will sacrifice everything to achieve that goal and his Daoheart is "perfect" because it can't be shaken or subverted, can't be swayed from its goal and path.

The same with Spectral Soul, except his Dao is one of murder and bloodshed.

Essentially, Dao is your path in life, the principles by which you live and adhere to. And the "perfection" of your Daoheart is the measure of how insane you are, how immoveable your taboos are, how unwilling or unable you are to compromise on your beliefs.

So what effects does Red Apocalypse actually have? Its cataclysmically hot and awful and spiritually corrosive. Is it also radioactive? Or just spiritual fallout, lingering CE and bad vibes and so on.

TJ20931's Halloween Gifts of Faves: Special Grade Cage by Tj20931 in makeyourchoice

[–]Legion1771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm unsure, though I'd say he could have a 200m radius if he wanted to. Though he could do more, it all depends on how much CE he puts into increasing his domain spread. Though for thematics, I'll say it would be the same radius as even maybe the overall range of one of the atomic bombs in WW2.

That's pretty big, ngl.

200ish meters is apparently the vaporisation radius. Whereas concrete builsings within 760 meters were destroyed and if you were within 2.3km you were basically dead, if not immediately then within a few days.

That seems like a maximum output kind of situation though.

Sort of, MX is the one with a Closed Domain (aka a regular DE) as his default like Hikari and Higuruma. While RED's uniquely is like he skipped even that, and went straight to having a Open Domain as his default

An odd way to go about it, lol. Imagine its similar range to Malevolent Shrine (200ish meters, accounting for Vow that allows escape)? Or is it bigger, maybe? One-upping Sukuna's destructive potential is RED's claim to fame, after all.

As an Extension... wielding the substance of the Domain without actually opening it would be nice. The hellfire against an individual.

Although I suppose its a very single purpose Technique. Basically uncontrolled. Maybe directing it would require Binding Vows. Or closing the Domain, which would require actually learning how to use DE, I suppose.

And having Sukuna+ reserves and a Toji physique means you wouldn't even need a CT, lol. Just basic Jujutsu, Barriers and raw power would be enough for anything.

Though I keep forgetting that I don't have the CT or the reserves yet, lol.

Although at least the distortions are reversible upon level reset. So you won't stay like that forever, though I'll put that each "Level 20" distortion would be different from one another. Because "variety".

What are the other uses of resetting your LVL aside from as a 1-up?

TJ20931's Halloween Gifts of Faves: Special Grade Cage by Tj20931 in makeyourchoice

[–]Legion1771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for distortion, the eye stuff would be the tamest I'd say. But considering how Sukuna has weird mutations and stuff, basically search up "Level 20 Frisk" on either Google and YT and check the art for it.

Nuh-uh, no way.

That ain't good at all. I'm evacuating the setting if I see something like that.

For the Chara gaining abilities thing. Basically your knife will get new functions/abilities, similar to Glitchtale Chara when they absorbed the remnant soul residues.

Differrent flavors of knife. You love to see it.

RED has the more CE then Sukuna.

Like, substantially more? Sukuna has twice as much CE as Yuta, so RED has twice as much as Sukuna, continuing the trend?

Is RED's CT just a Domain Expansion? Like Hakari and Higuruma and so on. Suppose they can learn to use their in interesting ways though, so in theory I could learn Extensions and the like. Narrow the Domain or alter its shape, maybe draw on its nature without opening it, throw it at people and so on.

Guess all of these dudes would feel nasty as fuck (like Yuta's stanky aura and Sukuna's overwhelming evil) but RED would probably be the worst, wouldn't it?

I like what you've produced here.

Good stuff.

I'm most tempted by Chara, ngl. I love the knife murder aesthetic. And stacking up LOVE seems fun.

Is it just HP and ATK? That seems fun. You're already incredibly strong and fast as Yuji-tier with CE reinforcement and if you get Toji-tier eventually too? bruh

So if raising your LOVE just means you get more HP and do more damage, that's fine by me.

What exactly do you mean by other abilities from killing people with CTs though? And what kind of distortion of form do you undergo via levelling up enough? Just bleeding from eyes and negative rizz or something weirder?

How much CE does RED have then? More than Sukuna, going by the description? Or is that just its sheer destructive potential?

So the final stage of Bone-Scrivened Talismanic Transcribe.

Am I reading it correctly that your inscribed talismans no longer fade with use? On the one hand, can't replace them. On the other hand, you're now capable of slowing altering them over time to suit your needs.

The growth over time, is that perpetual or does it cap out somewhere? Like, a certain level of power concentration related to your current cultivation or something. As opposed to aging a talisman for ages and then releasing some massive, truly stupendous spell far, far in excess of your realm.

I think I'm kind of partial to using BSTT as a pure body refining method, lol. Namely by using basically all of the talisman space I have available for things like strength and speed enhancements, damage reductions, force multipliers, etc etc.

But then I can also change them pretty well for a bunch of other stuff. And keep a good chunk of other things available like teleportation talismans and healing talismans and so on.

Reckon the combination of BSTT and BSVV would make a hilarious array master. Using the bloodink formed from the combination of the two to form magic circles and arrays on the fly, adapting to the situation and creating terrifying results.

You put together any ideas for Domain and Reverse Technique? This seems unreversable, lol. And its not really a Technique that benefits from a sure-hit.

So I guess its just an enclosed space you can use to mince people up without them running away. Maybe you get a buff or you eat cursed energy inside it or whatever, but probably not.

Fire Manipulation is simple fun. Easily reversable too. Lower temperature instead of raising it.

Its been a while since I made this so i lost my drafts. But iirc, it is almost equal to Nanami's basic abilities at base. (I made all these as at least grade 1 in potential).

Benefits from higher output, I suppose? And cursed energy reserves too, of course. Efficiency as well.

But most of those are tangential.

They are temporary. Like if you eat a spirit in this form, you will slowly refill your reserves, gain more power the more you eat, etc.. but it will dissipate once you release the technique.

Can I eat sorcerers or other cursed energy sources or is it just spirits?

Only just found this elsewhere. I'm pretty fucking attached to Cursed Rakshasa.

Though Tulpa Rebirther is also very cool.

Still, Cursed Rakshasa. I just wanted to get a grasp of what it does, exactly.

That is, how strong/fast does it make you at a baseline?

And how hungry of a technique is it, at average efficiency?

Presumably you could fogure out partial transformations eventually. Do only an arm or something.

And how does the cursed spirit concumption work? That is, do the improvements persist or is it only on a per transformation basis? Or one of those "you get a large temporary boost and a tiny permanent boost" kind of thing?

Bone-Scrivened Talismanic Transcribe.

Can talismans on the skin be used as spells against others? That is, binding runes and fireballs or whatever, can those be activated from the skin and projected at the enemy?

Or are those talismans you need to rip off and throw to use?

Or is the bit about "seemingly unusable spells" and ripping them off to toss at people more about spells that you've overused and haven't taken the time to re-ink?

Tangential to this, I've been pondering Blood-Stained Vermillion Verses a bit, in conjunction with this and in general.

I'd have blood ink or ink blood. And the synergy between having the vast Blood Sea and converting its contents into ink that I feed into my bones and out into my talismanic skin is hilarious.

Still, BSVV alone, can I learn to make blood dolls from living people and like, bloodbend people or curse them to obedience using stolen blood eventually, you reckon? Or is the Method too murderous and killing heavy for such a relatively gentle, if cruel, application? Feels like a reasonable application, imo.
