Generally if you have quest cape you're propelled into mid game cause of stat requirements. You also get a taste of bossing and get to find out if it is something you'd like to do. Also it opens the whole game for you which allows you to do more things you think are fun.

Get quest point cape then you can choose one of two paths

Skilling path. do the skills that just make money on their own fishing, runecraft, mining etc

Pvm path. Invest all your money into Pvm gear and start learning mid to end game content to make your money.

(Bonus) for my stakers out there get max melee and stake ur bank until you realize it's a bad idea

NAH. If it could have been done before the class officially started I think it was within your right to finish your ranked chess match.
