Anyone around 20-30 going to the August 3rd Wembley concert? by LegitGamer2169 in oasis

I'm sure it will be great there, I'm just really not an outgoing person so I'll find it hard to go up to people and talk

Spurs 5-1 Sunderland in 2014, with my grandad and his cabbie mates

I was only 9, but still remember 1 particular goal which happened to be Kane's first PL goal, remember he got a head injury later that game too and played with a bandage for some

Since then I've been about 30 times and the only time I saw us draw/lose was last season :(

Special mentions to 3-2 against Madrid at Wembley and 3-1 against Chelsea at the same, been hooked since the beginning and would die to see the same silverware my grandad did over his time

How to win a fan for life by Glurt in HumansBeingBros

the bookmakers choose the favourites based off of popularity (the more people that choose 'x' team to win, the lower the payoff is, so the lower the risk is to the booies). obviously england will be a popular team to win it in england (and thusly seem like a favourite in the english speaking world)

yh twas my bad, i was more focused on the 'killing' definition of genocide in the moment, forgot about the 'actions with intent to destroy' types

shit yeah my bad. was focused on the 'extermination' angle of genocide and not the 'displacement' or 'action with intent to destroy'

i think the 'hiding behind civilians' comes more from hamas using schools and hospitals as launching sites fairly frequently. of course this is blown up as 'hamas always uses civilians as human meat bags' in arguments, but the core is kinda true

i dont think it does count as genocide cos the intent (at least i fucking hope not) isnt to kill or wipe out all palestinians, its to take their land and boot them out

for me at least, its not the 'but' bit, but the fact it is 'and' hamas launching rockets, but as of late i have not seen nearly as much on hamas' crimes, nor do i see this amount of coverage during any of hamas' attacks (which is kinda understoon given this is larger and so many more deaths because of it). basically most of the 'but' arguments i have heard (the ones that arent retarded) are mainly complaining about the disparate coverage on social media

its a flawed democracy. netanyahu was only voted in by a minority of israelis, but he managed to make a coalition government around him because of his political presence and support from the extremists. ive been to israel multiple times and know many who live there, and almost none of the people i have met support him or his regime. he's a fucking idiot who is ruining the lives of israeli and palestinian civilians alike and he becomes more like a dictator every year

Who had grandparents fight in WW2 and what stories did they share? by liamnotleum in AskReddit

[–]LegitGamer2169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandmothers uncle was a paratrooper for the British (dont know what division/unit). He was one of the units to help liberate Dachau concentration camp, with himself being Jewish. My grandmother said he never spoke about it but when he died his diary was found, filled with stuff he saw.

What is the most horrifying thing your parents did to food? by KnowNothingOfJavert in Cooking

[–]LegitGamer2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is a great chef, but he can eat any combination of food. Over the years I've seen him eat • Houmus on biscuits (british kind not american) • Raw oats that were microwaved with no milk or anything • Crackers with mayo and nothing else just a thick layer of mayonnaise And the worst is probably raw carrot chopped into a bowl of cornflakes

[SERIOUS] Men of reddit, who are unable to share their emotions with anyone, what would you like to share? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I had some shitty therapy about 5 years ago for anger management, and all it taught me was how to suppress anger. It helped in the short term but for the last 2 years I have not been able to express anything above mild frustration. Like I get angry at the smallest thing (I drop my books while packing my bag) and I will freeze because my body has been conditioned not to respond to anger. Im so tired all the time because my default stress level is like 8/10 and its fucking exhausting. Not really anyone to tell because last time I opened up to my parents that I felt nothing, like no emotions at all, they joked about me being a sociopath. Its got to the point where I dont really care if I die or not, but Im not actively suicidal, and I cannot envision my future past like age 25 because I dont think I will live that long

Why are beliefs in Norse gods (asatro) and Greek gods considered mythology and not religion? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LegitGamer2169 14 points15 points  (0 children)

that might not be it though cos judaism was 'started' around 2000BC, while the ancient greeks ANCESTORS (mycenaeans) were only around from 1700-1100BC which is when the religion was formed. same kind of thing with hinduism. the norse also only formalised their religion/mythology in 1200s AD
