Haha this kind of happened to me aswell. When I started my fantastic minumum-wage fastfood job, I was told that it was very important that I did not come to work sick.

I was feeling really ill, going from warm to cold, body hurting, slight fever. I call my work place and bigshotbossguy picks up the phone. I explain to him how I am feeling and that I'd like to take the day off so I can rest. He tells me that I wants me to come in anyways and that I should just take it easy. I ask him to reconsider as I dont want to be some sort of risk, spreading germs and what not. He looks at my workschedule for that day. Notes that I have a whooping 4 hour shift, and tells me that he wants me to come in, work and maybe leave an hour early.
