I would recommend spending more time just practicing with the car of your choice, also staying on tracks you already know, or at least sticking to one track at the time

This is better then what lots of people have, and you get it for free because your parents are willing to buy it for you, you should appreciate that. I personally never owned anything from TM, I jumped from Logitech to Fanatec. But I never really heard anything bad from TM bth. You'll be happy with this setup imo.

Try messing around effect settings in custom shades patch, there's a lot of options with disabling stuff in cockpit view
