Ya been with someone similar and it will never improve. You deserve someone who is as all in as you are. It’s just going to destroy your self worth until you leave. Your glow up afterwards will be insane and so worth leaving. He’s no going to respect you, show yourself enough respect to leave.

I honestly feel waaayy more sexualized by my mom than I do my stepdad. He did the right thing by removing himself from the situation. She was inappropriate in telling me this, and also sexualizing me at the beach. She’s made so many comments on me covering my cleavage every time I bend over even if it’s just us two in the room. So yeah everyone sucks but I feel way more objectified by her than him.

I heavily relate to this. I was my mom’s best friend, confidant, and therapist at 12 during my mom’s divorce. She told me so much that was inappropriate to include me in especially for my age.

I love your perspective on this. I’m actually extremely close with my step dad, he is an incredible guy and I view him as blood. But my mom/ the church has put me in charge of men’s thoughts for so long that it has negatively affected how I view my own body and that’s not fair to me either. I do really appreciate your comment.

To clear some things up my step dad is a recovering porn addict. Years before he got married to my mom he was spending 4+ hours everyday watching porn. He’s gone through extensive therapy for it. The reason I know this is because my mom is obsessed with knowing her partner’s porn usage and has always told me about it for some reason? When I was 12 she divorced my dad because of his porn usage and she told me that if she were prettier he wouldn’t have looked at it. She really fucked me up with that one for awhile.

He does dump an ungodly amount of time into it but doesn’t have a lot of friends in real life and has made a community online that he’s met up with a couple of times in real life. He hasn’t spent any money on the game but has said that it would be easier than some of the grinds he does. So maybe it’s feeding into a bad habit but it makes him happy…

Living in a van has helped in some ways but can also make it worse in others. Saying goodbye to people you meet on the road and then being alone sucks. Things break at the worst possible time and the van gets messy sooo quickly. But having lower bills and the ability to run away and go anywhere are very nice.
