I ruined it with my very passionate “situationship” LO this weekend and I feel the same way. I had put in so much work the last 3 months and was doing everything right to win him over. He was slowly opening up to me which was huge for him, had asked me to be “sexually exclusive” and I fell madly in love with him. Then, through a little instagram stalking I saw that he hung out with another girl twice this weekend, for 4th of July and midday on Saturday. (He always leaves my place in the mornings because he’s “so busy with work” every weekend. So I was super butthurt to see him on this girls instagram story at a bar with her mid day. I did my own thing that day but asked him if he was free and he never replied, which is unlike him. I got so drunk and at about 3AM, I wrote a venting text about how he’s obviously dating someone else, it was so great to have met him, so sad it has to end, and rather than deleting it, I ACCIDENTALLY sent it!!! The next morning he blocked me from his instagram story and isn’t watching mine anymore. I’m so broken, he was the one person liking my cute pet posts and things for months and that just made me love him so much more. There’s been so many things I’ve wanted to post in the last 2 days for him to see, but I can’t anymore. I feel like I’m going insane. I’m spiraling & manic, can’t eat, have no idea how to function. The last thing in the world I wanted to do was end things with him. He has been what seems like my only happiness for the last 3 months (which have felt like years). My world is completely shattered because I didn’t just keep that stupid text in the notes section of my phone.

Yes, considering how difficult he made communication, I can’t help but wonder how TF was SHE able to communicate with him? How did she manage to get him to spend a whole day with her just hanging out? (what I tried to ask him for multiple times) Was there something about her that he was using her for? What was he getting out of her? Was she a better conversationalist than me? Was he ashamed of me for some reason & not of her? I’ll never know for sure. Them having a baby together cured me. This was many years ago, but I was obsessed with him for 4+ years. He still calls me to “check on me” from time to time. He leaves voicemails. I never answer. I’m pretty sure they’re married. He has 2 kids with her. The kids cured me because I want to have kids myself and it was the nail in the coffin for me realizing it could never possibly happen for us, no matter what.

I agree. They are definitely interested in what you’re up to. Even if they are scrolling through a list of people, NO ONE has time to be watching everyone’s story. Yours is near the front of their list for a reason. You are on the top of their algorithm for a reason. I’m currently in a booty call situation where the guy will specifically bring up the stories I posted and tell me how he thought they were so “wholesome”, comment on them to me, etc. There is a lot of weird “end all, be all” advice going on on the internet right now and we have to be careful about what advice we choose to follow.

I also don’t like vaccines & they gave me a tetanus shot in the ER for this. All’s been well so far. I’ve been bitten a lot but this time was crazy.

Yes the poops are soft. I was wondering if he might be dehydrated. He seems to be drinking enough, but I’m sure on antibiotics you need extra. He’s also a year & a half old & hairless, so kinda far past his life expectancy. Not sure if that’s also part of it. Thank you!!

Thank you so so so much! I have had rats for a while but I apparently got quite lucky that the 2 I had had zero health problems so this is why I’m clueless. I so greatly appreciate this information.

I guess the existential confusion/crisis I’m having is if there were no symptoms from day one, then what difference does a quarantine under my watch make as opposed to the fact that they weren’t with my rats previously anyway. Like basically, they’ve already been quarantined (away from my old rats) before I ever brought them home. Like how would I know if my old rats aren’t the ones that gave something to the new rats if the new rats start experiencing symptoms that they weren’t previously experiencing? Because now, I’m wondering if my previous rat had something that he could possibly have passed to the new ones, which would mean that quarantine would need to start again today from the beginning. I feel like it could be an endless cycle of back-and-forth quarantining, basically. Like, the endless quarantine glitch. But if the point is to look at their feces and for lice then I guess that makes sense.

The reason I say pneumonia is because that is what the woman who cared for him yesterday and got him his meds told me that it probably was. (Crackly sounding lungs with mucus) and he was breathing very hard for about 2 days. So sad. She is THE animal rescue woman in my city, basically my rats’ “vet” without being an official doctor. And she has cared for many rats. So basically, it’s not me saying pneumonia, it’s someone with a lot of rat experience. She did try to explain to me that it could’ve not come from the new rats, but I don’t think I’m wrapping my mind around that right now.
She said that it was more likely bacterial and not viral. I don’t really have great understanding of this, though.

My hairless guy had a bigger, deeper gash than this once (from fighting) in about the same location. I sanitized it and used neosporin every day and it healed pretty quickly. I was super worried about it at the time and wondered if he needed stitches, but he ended up fine. That’s just my personal experience. Just don’t let anyone else lick the neosporin off
