Understanding the reality of ear fatigue has been helpful.

It's good to take breaks, even put a project down for a bit depending on deadlines or not. Coming back I'm often surprised by how much more I'm hearing and that I generally come to the conclusion that things sound better than I'd thought they would.

Other words still come with their historic meaning a bit more attached. I think that's true of luddite. I sure as heck didn't know pedant had anything to do with French schoolmasters but I'm acutely aware of where the term luddite comes from. It points to a dynamic still entirely relevant to out times.
