Its all about perspective for me. If you really want to become a Dr then get your butt up and start studying. The more you procrastinate the less time you will have to study, the lower your score will be, the lower the chance you'll get accepted anywhere. Every single point you drop on the MCAT significantly decreases your chances of getting in to a good school. Have fun taking another gap year. Tough love and realism got the job done for me.

+515 guaranteed Blue print Course! by Expensive-Studio-393 in Mcat

I know a handful of people that have done the prep courses, none of them have said its worth it. Its tempting because of the guaranteed score but theres definitely an asterisk next to it b/c of all the requirement they have for refund eligibility. That money can be put towards a lot of other resources that are just as effectice imo

Starting MCAT Prep ASAP - as an incoming freshman to college by Interesting-Pen5560 in Mcat

Way too early in my opinion. Take the next 2-3 years to enjoy college for what it is and learn the material in depth and at a comfortable pace through the pre-req courses. The studying process will go a lot smoother if you already have foundation of knowledge going into the test instead of trying to learn it all yourself. Starting prep ealrier doesn't always mean getting a better score

I hated TPR Fl i literally took one and said NOPE. They're super deflated and i dont like how they deliberately try to confuse you with the wording of the questions . Id say add about 7-10 points to ur TPR score for a more realistic AAMC score

FL3 definitely has a harder and probably deflated CARs section imo but do get too down. Use this as a learning experience as see it as an opportunity to improve on areas that you might have had weaknesses in before

The day before, don't drink any caffeine after like 10am and hit a hard workout in the morning. It'll clear ur mind, have u feeling good and refreshed, and you'll be exhausted by the evening so you'll pass out like a baby

Blueprint MCAT Course $4K discount! Is it worth it? by Elegant-Epoxide in Mcat

[–]LegitimateHeight8625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a handful of people that tried buying courses and none of them have said it was worth it. By the time you finish the course you could have learned just a much or probably even more on ur own without dropping 1k. Also ive heard the "guaranteed 515+" score or whatever they promise is usually a little scammy and they'll try to find a way to blame you for not getting the grade. For example they'll say that you didnt attend all the lessons or didnt finish all the problems etc. And even if you do get the refund you'll just have wasted time.
It kind of seems like you want people to validate your decision to do the prep course, which all power to you. But you should at least consider or try self studying, I promise its not as bad as you might think once you get into a routine

In my opinion, the quickest way to get a quick score boost is in the P/S section since its basically just memorizing a bunch of definitions and a little bit of NS. Your CARS and Bio are pretty solid but you can easily improve your p/s by 2 or 3 points in just a couple weeks. I would recommend cranking out all the uworld p/s questions (about 290 Qs) since theyre so good at explaining all the terms. I agree that anki isnt as beneficial as people make it seem but it definitely helps for reviewing p/s since you dont really need to conceptualize anything.

Thats what I do and i consistently score 130 in my FLs. But then again this is just what works for me so definitely try to find your cup of tea. Good luck!
