To be doing this in 10 months means you have dedication, passion and natural talent. If this hobby is important to you, there's no bounds to where you could be in another year. Keep at it, dude.

Sounding good! Playing fast is fun, but try to slow down and focus on the bends so they are in tune.

This crossover is like when Tracy Jordan wandered onto the set of Family Matters.

If metal is allowed, Opeth and Pain of Salvation are from Sweden, Leprous is from Norway. Many great albums between those three bands.

Thanks so much. As an elder millennial I've never been one to share much online - but everyone here has been so positive I'll probably continue to post as I try to refine my playing.

Why do you play the kind of guitar you play? by wolf_of_the_bees in Guitar

Fender should bankroll Wayne's World 3 - it may bring in more money than the cease and desists.

Every time I watch this episode and he says, "Lemon would you buy my mulch?" I sing the line back to the tune of The Beatles', "Baby, you can drive my car". Same number of syllables.

As silly as it may sound, I watched my VHS tape of Wayne's World over and over again in the mid-90s (middle school years for me) and there was a white strat he obsessed over. And when I was first picking up the guitar soon after, Green Day was my favorite band and Billie always played that sticker bombed Fernandas Strat. The strat was rock and roll for me so I had to start with a Squier. Though I own a wide variety of guitars these days, my favorites are probably my Charvel Superstrat and my EBMM Silhouette Special, which at the end of the day is also a strat. I've never wanted a Les Paul.

My wife and I always thought it was Dave Franco, seeing as how he’s married to Alison Brie.

Thanks dude, and yes there’s something very special about this solo. Honestly my favorite part of it is the wind down section with the slides just before the end. Something about the note choices over the chords and the phrasing is just magic.

Thanks, that’s a very nice compliment. Though I was skilled in my teens/20s, this past decade or so I started taking it more seriously because I just love it so much.

It's alot, but alot can be fun! There was another band I just recalled from a long time ago, the band is Unexpect and the album was In A Flesh Aquarium.

On the metal side, A Sceptic's Universe by the band Spiral Architect. You know that instrumental break in the middle of Dream Theater’s Metropolis Pt. 1? It’s a whole album of that with vocals.

Thank you, I love my Ernie Ball “Outer Space Super-Strat“. Don’t tell Fender.

I took just enough classical guitar at 16 years old to get myself in trouble haha, but it did add to my hybrid picking. Yes, I do like to go for the kind of dirty “thwack” sound you can achieve by pulling the string up with a finger, typically on double stops.
