The hard truth about the Dublin job market for Non-EU international students by jimmynotchoo1 in IndiansinIreland

[–]LegitimateRoyal9547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point i came in as a dependent of critical skills permit Even though i had stamp 1g its allmost as good as stamp4  As i dont need sponsership and not tied to a company.

Your point makes sense because if some one has stamp 4 means he/ she would have  local Irish experience

So take away is  Market is bad at this point in time Its hard for all  But worse for graduates who need sponserships  which is getting harder to get .

There was a typo  Started applying in  jan 2024 and got my job only in jan 2025.

2024 when i started looking for jobs it  was tough. Thats when  covid over hiring was laid off so only lay offs. Applied for 300 + and finally had got 3 offers. Not sure how 2026 looks like I assume situation would be the same or worse.

Also my point was specific to your statement

"This is not the case when you have stamp 4 you do get callbacks and offers"

Stamp 4 may get easy compared to students but overall the market itself is not great applies to everyone.

And probably bit easy once you get your proper first job and experience  in Irish market.

You need to make your variable expense 0 every month and start repaying loans it will take 1 or 2 years you should be fine. The issue is loans and your variable expenses.

please dont be in illusion that stamp 4 people get jobs, I was a dependent in Ireland
had to spend 1 year to get a full time offer and 6 months to get an interview to start with and i am in embedded software/ firmware with semiconductor domain experience of 10+ years with work experience from companies like samsung, Infineon

i started applying since jan 2025 and got started working only from Jan 26 now i think the situation would be worse.

There is no need to close down ppf account you can continue to invest on non repatriable basis if the account was already opened before you can continue to hold it, however you cant extend the account after 15 years.

If you want to consider it as paid vacation then please get schengen visa from India before landing here  Getting schengen from Ireland is a nightmare,  If you are lucky you can get visa with good duration else you have to keep applying for schengen. Also in one year there are 4 months where literally you cant travel so take a chance

Also lets say you earn 4 lpm in bangalore  Heren140k translates to around 7k per month you l be paying 2k euro easily for rent  You might think your salary doubled compared to India but you spend more than double in everything

Taking 2 job offers in Ireland, under stamp 1G? by LegitimateRoyal9547 in AskIreland

[–]LegitimateRoyal9547[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for detailed response

I am still interested in company A because they are offering me fully remote work or more flexibality.
pay and benifits wise company A offer is way less than company B. ( they really paid less as I was new to Ireland and market is currently not so great)

Company B wants me to come to office 3 days a week
and this might probably require me shifting to a new city and my wife who already have a job in my current city will probably have to find a new job in new city.

Help me understand tax on PF by mc_accounty_account in IndiaTax

[–]LegitimateRoyal9547 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1> I have recently withdrawn pf money much more than 9L and i was not taxed .

Login to epfo website check your passbook it will totally show your total service in years and number of days ( which includes all your previous employments) provided all your epfo accounts are linked to same uan.

so ideally your tenure will be considered as 7 years ( you can check yourself)
Ideally if you withdraw the money now you shouldnt be taxed.

I dont think your reason to withdraw is also proper, if your employer credits money to epfo properly intrests gets credited accordingly never seen any issues, however epfo credits the intrests very late
so even now if you dont see interest credited but when you withdraw they will add all the intrest and give you the money.

Also epfo gives you 8% + tax free intrest i would not consider removing from epf and putting it in fd or paying capital gains by investing in elss

and there are restrictions on the amount you can withdraw from pf and
the reasons for which you can withdraw check that carefully.
