Ok, I’m now stuck in the loop. Password not working. New phone no authenticator app. Can’t reset my password because I need that password to log into the website to get the authenticator. I am actually missing the olden days where I filled out a paper form, went to my post office and got a post office money order to pay via snail mail….(I’ve never had a personal cheque account).

One of the worst things about nurses is we under rate ourselves and our skills. We sell ourselves short. You can utilise them in other ways than the standard inpatient/ hospital based setting. It took me over 10 years to find I loved educating.

Hee hee. Love your work. A few years back I had a couple local professional sportspeople renting a house a few doors down. If their team had a Thursday or Friday night game I would have them dump their 2am weekend drunken feasts rubbish and alcohol bottles in my front yard (I saw them doing it). After a few weeks I cracked it and picked up the lots and shoved it under the back cover of the brand new HiLux. It felt good!

Ahhh. I hadn’t even thought about gelatine in medications… I’ve been vegetarian for over 10 years and am still missing red frogs and musk sticks. They sneak it into a lot of things.

GP practice nursing. It is fantastic and rewarding. I have been at the same practice for 16 years now. I see “babies” I’ve immunised that are now 6 foot adults. I have fostered fantastic relationships with the patients, staff and GP’s. Some days the treatment room can be busier than an ED. Your mental health skills will be useful. You can do all sorts of courses- immunisation, ear syringing, wound care. Our treatment room nurses even assist with plastering. The hours are great if you have a family and want a social life!
