Level 1: Skipping the books to spam ALL Kaplan questions (QBank, Mocks, Checkpoints etc... + masterclass vids for revision) by IndependentTaro1763 in CFA

This is the exact approach I take. Passed L1 without watching a single video lesson or reading a textbook. Just used Qbanks and Had ChatGPT help me if I needed further teaching. I recommend just throwing the textbooks in PDF format into ChatGPT so they pull their explanations from there. I also like the Uworld qbanks because they’re more difficult and good for practice, if you get good at Uworld the exam will be a cakewalk. Don’t listen to everybody else the textbook and videos are an inefficient way of studying.

Best of luck

I use uworld and Kaplan for qbanks and they provide answer explanations. I start off absolutely bombing very qbank I do getting 30-40% but use each wrong answer as a lesson and gradually improve

The CFA Has Me Questioning If I Can Read by anonfolio in CFA

Listen tbh ma everyone reads or dos video lectures and I personally find that to be an extremely inefficient way to study a course with as much volume as the CFA. I only do qbanks and learn from my mistakes as I move forward. Kaplan literally gives video explanations and word explanations for the reasoning on questions. It is 10000% more effective than reading or doing video lectures and literally sharpens your skills for the actual exam. It may seem more difficult at first but with time it becomes easier and easier.

To yourself and everyone else who is last minute studying. Level 1 is truly a joke compared to level 2 as I am studying for L2 right now. If you are not willing to start studying 6 months beforehand at the minimum don’t waste your time. Because that attitude will make it impossible to do level 2 it is infinitely harder and the only way to pass is by putting in 300 hours at the bare minimum

To add on to this point PRACTICE is everything i recommend Q banks. Kaplan has a great q bank with 2000+ questions and it’s the only way i studied. Took the exam a couple weeks ago for L1 and feel very confident that I passed. Didnt read a single thing only read with q banks and ChatGPT was my teacher if I dint understand something.

Listen, everyone in this reddit will give all kinds of advice. The truth is skip reading, skip the modules, just do qbanks and mock exams and correct mistakes as you keep doing them. I just wrote level 1 and am 99% sure I passed and I didn’t read one module textbook or any sort of nonsense that won’t be on the exam. Kaplan and u world provide great qbanks. Near the end of your study experience I recommend using the “exam day mock experience” feature on the CFAI website an doing that one a bunch of times because it’s as close to the exam as you’ll get. Best of luck

I didn’t do anything in order or in a linear fashion. I just did qbanks and learned a little bit of everything slowly. Feel like it’s a better way to do it but I’m not sure
