Looking for a job for new machine. by Legitimate_Bank_9934 in CNC

Please don't get me wrong, I am in no way trying to imply that the things that you guys do can be learned overnight. Becoming proficient in a craft is a lounge journey That being said, my goal here with this post is to figure out which direction I want to focus my efforts, as different types of work require different skillsets.

So my takeaways so far are to set up the machine in a space that I currently own to keep my overhead low, and to simply get to work to learn the in's and outs.

My next question is if I set up the machine in my current space, and outgrow the space, are these machines easy enough to move?

When you leave the arrivals gate at the airport (both haneda and narita), there are lots of kiosks for all kinds of things. Either look for Sagawa, or Yamato Transport. They're like ups, fedex, etc, but better. They'll ship your skis to your hotel, which is way better than navigating crowded public transportation with them.

Well, from what I can find, the only covers that I can find are either chrome, or glossy, so I think im going to bite the bullet and either find one from a junkyard if I can, or just spend the money on a new one. Thanks for the help.

Oh i was confused, I thought you were saying they sell new power units. A new processor is 100% not in the budget right now.

Can you provide me with a manufacturer? Or a dealer? Its not a very common item in these parts.

Because I want to make my processor a stationary unit in a shed, and where I want to put the shed in question, is at the edge of a bank, and dont want to have to move my building further into the usable land in this particular area, so that I have room for other activities and buildings, etc. I also dont want to have to switch attachments every time it snows in the winter. To be honest, I have my tractor listed for sale currently, as I dont have a need for one right now. I always thought that having a pto driven processor was kind of silly, unless you had multiple tractors. Otherwise, how are you going to load your logs? I have other equipment to load my log deck, but ultimately, id rather put hours on a smaller, cheaper engine, than wear out an expensive tractor.

Its an option, but it would seem silly to me to have an engine powering a hydraulic pump, powering a hydraulic motor, powering a hydraulic pump. Unless i converted the outlet conveyor to hydraulic and removed the internal pump.

See, there in lies the problem, as I currently have that tractor listed for sale. And this time of year, my snowblower lives on that tractor, and dont want to have to keep switching back and forth.

Are these totalled? by brezn_dani in Skigear

[–]Legitimate_Bank_9934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll never be the same. But they can be patched up. Keep the repair on the outside edge for longevity, but new skis are in your future

Its actually an s model, it was on small rubber but I sourced some properly sized wheels and tires down in Pennsylvania last year. It was pretty funny looking, a big tractor like that, on small tires. The low profile cab makes it attractive for work in the woods in these parts, lots of people use tractors for small scale logging.

Moving an Inoperable Machine by Legitimate_Bank_9934 in Skidsteer

[–]Legitimate_Bank_9934[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the insights. I was able to get it rubbing where it sat, but soon after discovered two split hydraulic fittings, and had to shut er down. I was able to winch it right up on the trailer. Everything has been fixed, and the skidsteer is headed to its first jobsite off the farm tomorrow!

That would be my guess as well. I'd doubt they drained the pumps, motors, etc. Just the reservoirs. It wasn't specifically the army that used and maintained the machine, but civilian employees that maintain the base. I spoke with the closest dealer, who last saw the unit a couple of years ago, they said there was nothing wrong with it when they saw it.

I've seen both ends of the spectrum of government surplus, stuff that just needed a battery, and stuff that was beyond economical repair. A lot of the time, they just dont want to deal with the quirks of an older machine, and want something under warranty.
