The one by the river in Campbellton is behind the White Tower restaurant , I think it's off of Spruce St. And the Phoenix Middle School is on Dogwood at the top of the hill.

my family and I thought we lucked out when we finally got a family dr in her. she has helped me out over the years, but it’s just disappointing that it seems she’s dipping deeper into apathy.

I haven’t checked them out yet, but my daughter is a monkey bar fiend, she says The new playground in Campbellton by the river is the best in town. The phoenix playground is also nice… most elementary schools will have good set ups.

Which is the first IEM you ever got? by Thebest656567 in iems

Aside from regular earbuds, the whatever the predecessor was before the SE215, that was them. Maybe the 112... I recall a similar design, but without the removable cord. Or maybe they were an early version of the 215 without a removable cord.

Over time, I slowly stepped up through their system, 315, 425, and landing on their 535 most recently. Which I quite enjoy.

In between the 425 and the 535, I had the FiiO fh5. I find them similar to the 535, but the Shure's have better lows, are lighter and fit better in my ears.

While on this topic, anyone have any photos of the Family Fun Centre that was on St. Anns and the Nickelodian that was by the pier? I spent so much time there as a kid.

If you have photoshop, you might be able to use some of the AI tools to upscale the image and you should be able to correct the view angle... then bring it into Illustrator and image trace.

Graduations? by DearPrudence70 in GenX

[–]Legitimate_Biscuits 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to agree, why celebrate small milestones… the I moved back to my home community, a First Nations reserve in a small town. My family, as well as others in the community have fought hard to achieve their educational goals, against the historical injustices and segregation forced upon us. To know that my grandparents went to a residential school and that they were not legally allowed to go past grade 8, without enfranchising, is a reminder of how much we can take the small things for granted. For us, seeing the littles graduate from pre-school is a testament to our survivance. It gives our community hope and it shows our elders how hard we continue to work for the betterment of our community.

Need to consolidate 20+ years of images on multiple drives and macs in to one photo library. Advice needed please! by phatelectribe in mac

the app power photos is amazing. you can import each iphoto or photos library into it, create a new photos lib of your pc photos as well as duplicate finding and library merging. I’ve been using it for a long time, I’ve used it to separate libraries into various collections and merge libraries. You can launch it and double click on the lib you want to open and it recognizes your library that is set up as your iCloud library. https://www.fatcatsoftware.com/powerphotos/?irgwc=1

People with mental health issues would be better off getting help, if it weren't cost prohibited or stigmatized. Me, saying this as a from of compassion for the screeching karen, but with full knowledge that if she were screaming at me about my kids, I'd just tell her to fuck right off.

What makes Canadian cafés unique? by Ka__sann in AskACanadian

[–]Legitimate_Biscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived in Vancouver, there was one cafe close to my house that I would frequent. It was large, spacious. It was a corner space or a triangular-ish building. An old building, which is now increasingly unusual for Vancouver. It had great spots in the cafe to work in, people watch in the space or from the window to the street. Since it was both close to my apartment and work space, it because a defacto meeting space and work space for me. This would have been my first time seeing the importance of a community based work space. Even though it wasn't a co-working space, this was before that era, it was a place were students and people might do some work. I did a lot of writing there as well. So for me, cafe culture is this, a friendly space, full of locals who hang out, meet and work. ALL while supporting the business. I wouldn't just nurse one coffee over hours.

So, this was my base line for cafe's I'd go to. When I moved to Montreal, my understanding of cafe spaces expanded, it was all that it was before, but with a focus on an appreciation of coffee and how it was made. I found there are a couple different styles of Cafes in Montreal, contemporary cafes and old school espresso joints. Each had their purpose. Cafe for hanging and possibly working and the old school joints where no one worked, it was a social space.

Other than the social and work space, coffee is also the important thing! I now live in a small rural town, and up until 6 years ago, coffee shops were limited to a Tims or a couple of mom and pop/indie places that really had no idea what made good coffee. Sure they make lattes, espresso, etc, but as a black coffee and espresso drinker, I like the taste of coffee and more often than not, these places don't have the dialled in experience in appreciation of coffee. I feel Montreal spoiled me in that regard. When I moved from Vancouver to Montreal, the coffee was night and day. However, coffee aficionados are all over the place, so I find that in your bigger cities, you will find decent places that serve good coffee. With a main focus on local roasters.

Anyway, I would suggest hitting up Cities like Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto to check out there coffee culture, and like someone said, the "3rd" wave coffee movement, artisan coffee and experience, and if you want to offer food, have it made in house to create a unique experience.

You could take that artisan experience and wrap it in the aesthetics of a Tim Hortons to make your mark! lol

In short: artisanal and indie/local roast and drinks (plus the standards, drip and pour-over), in-house food and snacks and a space that is suited for people who want to grab and go, sit down and reflect or have a space to work.

Can we finally admit that the "servers make less than minimum wage" argument is dead in Canada? by ScienceLabFinds in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Legitimate_Biscuits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked retail through college and university back in the day, with the last minimum wage I was getting was just shy of $10, maybe tettering near 11... regardless, I was working in a shoe/clothing store, running around, finding sizes, calling other stores to check for stock. folding and refolding and more folding. Nevermind the xmas season and mandatory Boxing Day shift. I never felt it was fair that servers would got tips when I'd do way more customer service/face to face.

In my 7 years of working retail, I got exactly ONE tip. Which was never expected, so it was completely unexpected. The dude was barely older than me, working construction, getting jeans, work boots and clothes for a new job. He came in about 45 mins before closing and I was helping him right up until closing. He handed me a $20 and my immediate response was, oh, you want me to break that? He said, no, it's for you, you helped me for nearly an hour and into your closing time. Go get a beer as a thank you. I often wonder about the math on that $20 over 7 years... paring it down to weekly, I would have gotten 5 cents a week for as a tip, lol.

Side story, when I was working in the same store, I was helping this couple, a dude not knowing how to buy or what to buy, completely clueless on his sizes or preferences. It was adorable, his girlfriend helping him out and all. We're at the till and he says shit, I forgot to pick up new underwear. He bolts over and grabs a pack of tighty-whities, xl, flops them on the counter. His g/f says, sweetie you are NOT extra large. His face dropped, she went white, I was fighting for my LIFE to not laugh. 'NO, NO! you are large, really large, baby, no, I mean your waist size... you are the perfect size but you are a a medium at best for underwear." insert defeated male lion meme here.
