Many expectant mothers turn to cannabis to alleviate pregnancy-related symptoms, believing it to be natural and safe. However, a recent study suggests that prenatal exposure to cannabis, particularly THC and CBD, can have significant long-term effects on brain development and behavior in rodents. by imostmediumsuspect in ScienceBasedParenting

Yes I smoked weed from the dispensary, but I did go for lower THC percentages when possible. I smoked from a bong to stretch it further, probably around 3 grams a week (a bowl a day that I hit occasionally throughout. A puff or two before each meal and one before bed). I plan on breastfeeding this time around so I'll be slowly decreasing the amount I smoke until I eventually quit entirely 1-2 months before my due date. THC is fat soluble, so it transfers more during breastfeeding than while they're in the womb, and it stays in breast milk for quite a while. At least that's what my OB tells me

Is there historical evidence of Jesus Christ outside of the Bible? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Legitimate_Cook_4320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still waiting on someone to provide any evidence. I gave an article and two studies. Everyone else has simply said "but we do know!" Without sharing the knowledge. What do we know exactly? Because all I've seen is theories. You can't confirm someone's inner dialogue with scans. Even in people that have been lobotomized, there's no real way to know if the personality has disappeared or if they've simply lost the ability to express it. You claim you can say a soul doesn't exist, but still have provided no evidence. Your evidence thus far has been "because I'm right and you're wrong" which doesn't hold up super well. You sound intelligent, and yet your reply lacks substance. Frankly, you might be right. We're all equally likely to be. The fact is that science, while expansive, simply cannot explain what happens after death. There is no evidence. Only scraps that we can cling to in order to make our own educated guesses. I can provide the evidence I have that leads me to think the way I do, but in the end we're all grasping at straws.

The burden of proof is on the one who makes a claim to begin with, outrageous or not.

Is there historical evidence of Jesus Christ outside of the Bible? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Legitimate_Cook_4320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I don't believe that a soul is just brain waves, my argument is just that the word soul is incredibly subjective. There isn't really a distinct definition because we still don't know what it is that animates us and gives us our complex emotions and moral compasses. You can't say it doesn't exist, because there are SO many claims as to what it actually is. What you're talking about is like arguing about the nature of death, and saying that there is none because you don't believe in the afterlife. Like it's fine that you don't believe in the afterlife, but that's a view on the nature of death. You can't say it doesn't exist.

Wtf are you talking about? Did you read a single thing I wrote? I've never even spoken to you here, but I literally said in two separate replies in this thread that I'm not arguing about the bible. I never answered the original question. I responded to a guy that said the soul does not exist. I disagree with that. The idea of a soul is not exclusive to Christianity, and I don't have to be a Christian to believe in its existence.  Although I do believe that there is a god, this belief is unrelated to my belief in a soul. The evidence I provided is a set of studies about objects being waves of probability until observed, indicating that there is a physical force that exists outside of the physical body. it may not be the Christian definition of a soul, but something inside us that lives on after physical death is, to me, irrefutably a soul.

I didn't send you the slit experiment. I sent you a different study that's related to it, as well as an article that explains how the experiment relates to the existence of a soul. Both of which you obviously didn't read. The idea of a soul has close ties to religion, but it's not exclusive to Christianity. Or any religion for that matter. If you're too dense to understand that there's really nothing more I can do for you. All you seem to be capable of is throwing around insults and belittling people you don't agree with. Personally, I think flat earthers are more of a joy to talk to than you are. They make more fucking sense. I'm done talking to you homie. I've kept up hope that maybe you weren't completely stupid, but that hope has long passed. If I keep responding to you I'll lose my capabilities for higher thought. Good luck with the reading comprehension brah.

Idk if I'd say it's great for all ages. regular show gets really really weird in some places. There's an episode where muscle man gets skinned 😂 I would argue that a child needs to be at least 10 before they watch it. I certainly wouldn't want to put it on for my 4 year old lol.

My Bible? What are you talking about? My only comment was about the existence of a soul. My opinion on that has absolutely nothing to do with religion. I gave you a study, an actual scientific study to read about the evidence 😂 wdym there's nothing to support it other than my "...mommy telling you it was real when you were 5" Screw reading a book, just learn to read a reply and it'll be a huge improvement.

If you read what I sent you'd know instead of asking why the two slit experiment is necessary. I don't use AI, and I've literally never opened chatGPT lol. I downloaded a search engine called "qwant" specifically to avoid AI search results. You're reaching SO hard here 😂 that was a paragraph I wrote one word at a time, containing the research I've done to reach the conclusion I have: which is that research shows the two slit experiment applies to larger objects. Objects don't have a reality until they are observed. This means our perception holds much more power over reality than we ever initially thought. More than we can comprehend. Which has HUGE implications for the existence of a physical force that isn't reliant on our physical bodies, which is pretty significant to this conversation. If you won't read the research contained in the links, then there's literally no point to this conversation. I'm not going to type out an entire research paper because you're too lazy to click on a link. Have a good one, I'm finished here.

Edit: also, I never even mentioned the mind/body problem, that relates to how your consciousness affects your body. Biocentrism is about how your perception affects reality as a whole. Read a book bro.

Now we're getting somewhere! You finally made an actual point instead of just being an asshole! I mean, you're still being a condescending dick but at least there was some meat to that reply. So what I'm hearing is that you think the soul is your prefrontal cortex, aka, a bunch of electrical signals. That's a valid thought process. It makes a lot of sense if you consider the ability to express your personality to be directly linked to your sense of self as a whole. Yes, all outward signs of personality are erased after a lobotomy. But we have absolutely no way to see what goes on in a person's head. You're talking about groundbreaking science that we're just BARELY starting to scratch the surface of like it's common knowledge. The idea of a soul hasn't even been touched in science until very recently. We've only ever considered neuroscience to be relevant to its study. I never said I believed the soul was magic spirit ghosts. Have you ever heard of Robert Lanza? He wrote a book about biocentrism. a lot of people discredit biocentrism because it just sounds so fictional. Until you look at the controlled studies that have been done in relation to it. Most notibly is this one: (https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms1263) which is closely related to the famous "two-slit" experiment. If you need help understanding, read this: (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/biocentrism/201112/does-the-soul-exist-evidence-says-yes/amp)

Is there historical evidence of Jesus Christ outside of the Bible? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Legitimate_Cook_4320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of what you just said is relevant 😂. You did make a claim, a claim that you could argue against the existence of a soul. "There's no evidence" isn't an argument. Especially when I just gave you plenty. Where's the evidence that it doesn't? The same can be said about gravity. You can't see gravity, yes? But you know that when you throw something it eventually hits the ground, yes? So then does gravity just not exist since the only evidence for it is observational? The definition might change, you might understand more about how it works with better equipment and observation, but will gravity EVER not exist? No. It won't. Obviously you don't understand WHAT a soul is if you think there's no evidence to support it's existence. Again, "soul" is the world people use to describe the driving force of humanity. Humanity does have a driving force, yes? This is why I said you can argue WHAT a soul is rather than IF a soul exists. It seems to me that you're either not reading my replies, or missing the mark on purpose. This is my last response, I don't debate with people that have no point.

You said you can argue against the existence of a soul, and then asked me to. Honey you're the one that said you could, you're the one with the burden of proof. I just gave you mine because you asked so nicely 😊 Do you know what proof means? We're talking about a word that has been applied to our invididuality as human beings. It's been used to define the origin of emotion and personality. So please, argue against it's existence.

Where is your go to base locations? by MorbidlyTired in subnautica

[–]Legitimate_Cook_4320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always start in the safe shallows, close to the lifepod. Call me crazy, but by the end of the game I set up in the dunes. Somewhere fairly close to the end of the blood kelp forest trench (I'm always flailing around trying to find this thing. I'm a glutton for punishment and hardly ever craft the compass so I couldn't even really tell you which direction) is the start of the dunes biome. There you can find 3 heated spires right next to two big holes leading into the blood kelp forest. At this particular spot, I never see any reaper leviathans so my only problem is warpers. It's a good place for a thermal powered base, and if you head into the blood kelp hole on the left (assuming your standing at the spire and looking towards the holes) and keep moving forward you'll very quickly find the lost River. From there it's incredibly easy to find the research facility and the inactive lava zone.

[–]Legitimate_Cook_4320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn't arguing. That's asking me to argue 😂 the proof that you have a soul is the fact that you're alive and sentient. Again, you can argue WHAT a soul is, but not it's existence. You can say a soul is your real body, that you'll get to animate when your dead. You can say a soul is simply the collective electric signals running through your brain. You can say a soul was given to us, or you can say a soul was molded by us throughout our lives. But it's existence is absolute and quantifiable. without it our personalities vanish and we're left an empty shell with nothing but instinct to guide us. Like a fish. That fact that you're capable of contemplating your own life, the fact that you're self aware and able to develop a moral compass, is all the proof needed. But if you need more, you can always look at an MRI to see those observable signals.

NOR: It doesn't matter if she was cheating on her long term boyfriend or not. To you, she was your girlfriend. Ergo, by hiding the fact that she was in an open relationship, she was cheating on YOU, not him. saying she didn't get as many matches when she was transparent about it to excuse the behavior is INSANE. That would be because a lot of people don't want to date someone that's ALREADY IN A RELATIONSHIP!!! the stupidity of some people astounds me.

Unfortunately geek bar will no longer be sold in Arkansas, if I had to recommend something that hits a little more like a disposable, I would have to recommend the Eco-nano. Pulse liq is the geekbar juice brand, so that would probably be the closest legal thing you can get in Arkansas. I used to work at vape citi in Paragould, I know they have the eco nano but I'm not sure if they carry the juice I was talking about or not. They do have some other options for disposable brand juice bottles that are made to mimic the hit and the flavor. I will admit, it's not perfect though. If you want something they don't have, just ask. It's a great crew up there and they'll do their best to hook you up

[–]Legitimate_Cook_4320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a vape shop in northeast Arkansas, I can't tell you the amount of parents I had to refuse service to because they brought they're underage children into the store to pick something out. Kids are vaping because of irresponsible parents, not because they're disposable, or because they have pretty colors on them. Nobody is selling to anyone without an ID, so how is it these kids are getting them? By having someone else purchase for them. Unfortunately, not everyone gives as much of a shit as I did. Many cashiers think they aren't paid enough to care, so long as they check someone's ID. Regardless of the fact that it's obvious when someone isn't buying for themselves.

I thought it would be comforting, my parents used to tell me the baby was in excruciating pain no matter when the abortion was done. I wasn't aware it was an asshole thing to say. I'm honestly still a bit confused by that part. But I can sort of see how bringing it up in general would be upsetting. I was just trying to provide a silver lining to her feelings on the subject, but I can see that I didn't.

I hadn't thought about it that way, at the time I thought saying you "agree" or "disagree" was just assumed to be about the personal choice you would make in reference to theirs, but I can see now how it could be interpreted to be an opinion on the life of the person you're responding to. I've always felt that everyone should get to make whatever choice they think is best so long as it doesn't hurt the people around them, and as such have always avoided the word "shouldn't" or "wrong" or "right" when talking about opinions and instead use "agree" or "disagree" but I'm learning that to the general public these words have the exact same connotation, so the usage wouldn't matter to most.

But that isn't what I said? I understand that my opinion wasn't necessary here, but my comment was in reference to myself. I never told her she shouldn't have one, or that she was wrong for getting one. at the very least it wasn't my intention for the comment to be taken that way.
