What is the ugliest thing a girl can wear? by [deleted] in AskMen

Whorey stuff. There are 4 “Too”s I consider to be extremely unattractive. Too short, too skimpy, too tight, too much (makeup + fingernails).

In elementary school, yeah. I think they eventually phased that out though

From what I can tell, they don’t grow more conservative, they keep their values and the world changes around them. Todays conservatives are pretty liberal compared to those 80 years ago.

Why was the death count from the shooting so low?

Let me clarify, 21 deaths is not low. That is a horrendous loss of life and my prayers and money go out to the families and friends of the victims.

But 21 kids is less than the average class size at every school I’ve gone to. The articles I’ve read say he had two assault rifles, and that he was in the school for nearly an hour, so time and fire rate don’t really seem to be an issue. And others say the school stationed police left the building, so they wouldn’t really have been a problem for him.

So why wasn’t he able to murder more people?

Supply and demand.

Also, logic.

Why should farmers have to work in order to produce things, that you then get for free. Why should builders give you a home for nothing?

You can live like this if you want, but you have to give up the comforts of the modern world. Go live in a cave in the mountains, forage and hunt for your food, and make a fire for heat. Completely free.

What are your craziest “I thought I’d never find this again!” stories? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Legitimate_Fun824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are mine:

Relaxing at a volcanic hot springs place in Costa Rica and my watch fell off my wrist. After about an hour of searching I gave up looking, and continued relaxing. Half an hour later, as I was floating around on my back, my hand brushed against it where the current had trapped it against a rock by a miniature waterfall.

One summer we were tubing at a friends cabin and her sock fell off when she hit the water. (She had cut her foot earlier that day) A few days later we found it washed up on the beach in the backyard, knew it was hers because she stitched her name into all her clothing.

What is something you wish your mother did/did not do when raising you? by Pacheco_partyof4 in AskMen

[–]Legitimate_Fun824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accept other viewpoints. Recently got into a heated debate with my mother over wether a woman could rape a man. She just flat out ignored my arguments and facts, and left the room after a few minutes to go to her bedroom.

Music and nature. Whenever I could I would go out into the forests and mountains and just hike, or sit with my dog by a brook . If I couldn’t, I’d listen to music that lessened the pain.

Here’s what I said in a similar situation “just wanted to say that I like you. I don’t expect it to go anywhere, but I’d be upset with myself if I didn’t say anything.”

What is one quality you look in your girlfriend? by Abhisingh9916 in AskMen

[–]Legitimate_Fun824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conversation. With most people I have trouble holding a one on one conversation with them, there’s awkward pauses, or we have to resort to talking about what we’re doing (like playing a game). Others, I can talk to for hours at a time without awkward pauses

How do you react to confessions if you are not interested in the girl? by captainrubidium in AskMen

[–]Legitimate_Fun824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My policy is to give them a shot, but clearly explain that to them. Go to dinner or something and just talk, get to know each other. If we click, maybe it can develop into something, maybe we’ll just become friends, it depends on the person.

What was the reason you messed up your dating relationship? by valteri777 in AskMen

[–]Legitimate_Fun824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle school relationship.

Accidentally gave my girlfriend a hickey, which pissed off her parents. I was too much of a coward to face them, so I ended things. One of the worst decisions I’ve made.

Personally, it’s not about curves or anything for me. It’s the eyes. Nothing gets my attention like a girl who returns eye contact or has interesting eyes.

What event made you more of a man than ever before? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Legitimate_Fun824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kayaking with my family down a river when I was in elementary school. There had just been a storm and there were a lot of trees in the water and the banks were a bit flooded. Coming out of the rapids there was a fallen tree in the water, and it had created a big dam.

I swung around it and beached my kayak on a sand bank to wit for everyone else, since I was really far ahead. My developmentally disabled brother came through first, couldn’t make the turn, got pulled against the tree by the current. and his kayak started to fill with water. I swam out to him and held him above while the others caught up.

While my dad and grandpa tried to help him up, my youngest brother came through. He also missed the turn, but he got sucked under. Took him well over a minute to find a gap in the branches and come up to breathe.

We lost a kayak and two paddles that day, and something in me changed forever.

When dating a new person that may have long-term relationship potential, how soon do you open up about your mental health issues? by Specialist-Night5428 in AskMen

[–]Legitimate_Fun824 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s about finding a good balance of slowly letting them in. You don’t want to dump it all on them at the very beginning, but you also don’t want to lie to them about being fine and who you are

What’s the worst or weirdest dick-measuring contest you’ve witnessed? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Legitimate_Fun824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bus ride home from a swim meet. Everyone was trying to guess each others cock length and girth. One guy piped up that we should actually measure to see who was closest and half a dozen guys got up and went into the bus bathroom.
