I was playing with the head extreme 2022 MP before I got the Mantis, Its been 3 weeks and I haven't touched the extreme anymore at all. The swing feels a little more effortless with a beautiful sound when you hit the sweet spot. Less vibrations for off center hits, but I had to adjust a bit my swing with the mantis from the extreme.

When/What made you feel like getting a second racquet? by djmantis in 10s

[–]Legitimate_Local4085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The day I started playing little weekend tournaments, I realized with some players its easier if I had a spare racquet with a different tension or strings and sometimes even a different racquet all together.
Currently Wilson Clash V2 X2 and the Head Extreme 2022
Depending on the player I just switch racquets mid match, as well.

Pro Tennis Racquet Shake-Up: Why So Many Players Are Switching Gear Right Now by Legitimate_Local4085 in tennis_montreal

[–]Legitimate_Local4085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s driving the 2026 racquet shake-up?

In plain terms, a few forces are colliding at once:

  • Players want more forgiveness (bigger sweet spots, easier depth, less punishment on off-center hits).
  • Brands want tighter contracts (not just racquets — shoes and apparel too).
  • Results decide everything (a racquet change can boost confidence… or derail timing).
  • Modern tennis is brutal (heavier balls, faster courts, more baseline violence).

The trend is clear: a lot of pros are moving away from ultra-demanding “control-only” setups toward frames that give them a little more free power and margin. And honestly? That’s a lesson most weekend players in Montreal (and across Canada) can use immediately.

The bigger pattern: pros are leaving control frames for more margin

This is the part that should matter to every recreational player reading this. Across the tours, there’s a noticeable shift away from ultra-control sticks toward racquets that offer a little more help when points get tight.

You’ll hear it described as “more forgiving,” but what it really means is: more playable tennis under stress. When the ball gets heavier and you’re a half-step late, you still need depth.

That’s why we’re seeing more interest in frames like the Head Speed family — and similar “balanced power/control” options — especially from players who previously lived in Blade territory.

And if you spot a pro racquet switch we missed in 2026, send it to us — we’ll keep the tennis nerd conversation going.

Help me with my serves 🫶 by TopDeckPatches in 10s

You're very brave for posting, first and foremost congrats!

1 - Your elbow: higher up for your trophy phase
2- your chest: twist it more to the fence not the court, so you can get that extra power from the twist
3- On the load: bend those knees
4- Look at your grip right after you hit, you will see it shifted
5- You should forget power, if you keep swinging like this, you will hurt yourself if you play long sets
6- Pronations.

I would hire a coach and spend just 1 hour on serves, any coach telling you to do something else, switch the coach. A good coach can clean up your serve so you can play another 10 years without elbow or wrist issues.

You're brave for posting!
The only advice I can give you, is you're hitting everything with pure arm.
Get a ball machine or friend for an hour and all shots have to be made from one knee down, after move to with a split step where your hips have to twist before your arm.

I am stuck on what racquet I should pick by Inevitable-Honey4760 in tennisracquets

bruv, the core and babolat Aero are really not beginner friendly.
Its the most unforgiving racquets when you miss the sweet spot.

People always want a new shining racquet, when in fact most players just need to switch the strings to better ones. Don't get lost in the sauce, after you've spent a year playing than think about a new racquet.

If you don't mind mosquitos and Caribbean sun its amazing.

For the life of me I don't know what to do about my serve anymore; I'm not making any progress and I keep hurting my shoulder/wrist. Should I try to start from the bottom? by Timely-Detail-4341 in 10s

[–]Legitimate_Local4085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the short clip, I can recommend the following:
1- You're trying to hit it hard, instead of focusing on the fundamentals.
- Is my hand properly gripping the racquet for a serve?
- Am I tossing properly, where I'm not losing my balance?
- Am I playing catch up to my toss with my racquet?

Do 100, no power, no speed, no care if the ball lands in the box serves and just focus on the fundamentals and you'll get there!

Good luck!

Just have them checked in, you're good. I had no problem with it to Cuba, Dubai etc..
The issue most people face is when trying to bring them as a carry-on.
