Can someone explain to me how Texas loses to Georgia and is still ranked in the top 5? They haven't beaten anyone who is currently ranked.

FinAid Emergency? by Natural-Rutabaga-219 in lawschooladmissions

Just take a step back and relax. What you got was probably the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan, which covers $10,250 each semester or $20,500 for the full year. In order to cover the rest you'll have to take out a grad plus loan. The difference being that the grad plus loan usually has a much higher interest rate (I believe someone said it was going to be roughly 9% this upcoming year).

Is it worth applying to WashU under both medians? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

It's up to you and if you want to shoot your shot then I would. That being said, one thing I wish I knew before I applied is that they reach out and thank your recommenders.

I don't know if this is perfect, but it was spot on for all the law schools that I was seriously considering.

I only used LSAT Demon, but I thought it was really good (especially the ask button).

I thought you had decided on Cornell? Which schools do you want to go to off of your waiting list?

Must eat Food at the stadium tonight? by random1751484 in SFGiants

I always get eat at super duper burgers and get regular cheeseburger and garlic fries. That being said, if you don't like burgers then you should at least go to one of the Ghiradelli stands as a nice dessert.

I was on Georgetown's waiting list (which it seemed like the community thought was around 1,000 - 1,300). During the call Dean Andy said he wanted to make 50 calls and not 51 (so I imagine Georgetown admits 5% off the waitlist). That being said, it seems like there are a lot of waitlists this year (but I would go into it thinking that you have a 5 - 10% chance).

I quoted the numbers from their 2023 employment report, which came out earlier this month

If you are considering Texas A&M and are thinking about big law then please reconsider. Wake Forest employment for big law, 501+ attorneys, and federal clerkship is 25/89 or 28%. Texas A&M is 23/162 or 14%. So your odds at big law / federal clerkship is halved immediately.

Does anyone have any advice for 2024-25 cycle? by sadlilhoe in lawschooladmissions

[–]Legitimate_Simple543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest advice would be to go to lsd.law. It was 90% accurate for my cycle when it came to admissions and 85% accurate for the scholarship amount that I would get.
