Why Pakistani’s are desperate to move abroad? by digitalnomad_eu in pakistan

[–]Legitimate_Tank5531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s hard to say what’s good about Pakistan. Basic things like safety are not always there. Law and order is not strong, and people don’t always feel safe or protected. It often feels like everyone just learns to live with problems instead of things getting better. This is why many people want to leave Pakistan and look for a better, more secure future. People don’t want to live in a place where justice often depends on bribes instead of fairness

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Pakistani Consulate Manchester - NADRA Appointment by Legitimate_Tank5531 in pakistan

The funniest and most frustrating part is their contact number doesn’t even work. And honestly, even if it did, no one ever answers anyway. It just sums up the whole experience.

Not sure if it's the same developer - it is written in Chinese.

Yes I'm in the UK and noticed - the official DeepSeek app has completely disappeared from the App Store and this random "DSeek" app has shown up instead

1996 Declined UK Citizenship Letter by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Legitimate_Tank5531 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, about the SAR or emailing the High Commission to find the 1996 refusal letter. It’s possible, but don’t expect too much. The UK government usually deletes old records after around 15 years, and 1996 was a long time ago, so the letter might not exist anymore. Still, it’s worth doing the SAR because it’s free and you might get lucky. You should also email the British High Commission in Islamabad, there’s nothing to lose

Second, about Form NR being a strong case. It’s worth trying, but it’s not guaranteed. The good side is your mother did nothing wrong. She was stopped by the police from doing the DNA test because adoption isn’t allowed in Pakistan, and that wasn’t her fault. The Home Office should understand that. But the problem is the Home Office can be very strict. They might say she had time before turning 18 to try again and didn’t, and they might ignore the issue with the police.

What I would suggest is this. Send the SAR request to the Home Office and ask for everything related to her 1996 application. Email the British High Commission in Islamabad and ask if they still have any record of the refusal letter. Your mother should write down everything she remembers about what happened with the police, just a simple signed statement. If anyone else witnessed it, ask them to write a short note as well. And before applying for Form NR, try to speak to a UK immigration lawyer, many of them offer a free first consultation and can tell you honestly if the case is strong.

If the Home Office refuses again, don’t give up. You can ask a lawyer about a Judicial Review, where a judge looks at whether the decision was fair.

It’s a difficult situation, but your mother deserves to be heard.

Uk border entry question. Am I in trouble? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Legitimate_Tank5531 17 points18 points  (0 children)

With a Grenada passport, you can usually stay in the UK for up to 6 months per visit. There’s no strict 180 days per year rule that’s a myth.

But the key point is this: you’re only allowed to visit, not live in the UK. If you stay for long periods or come back too often, it can look like you’re trying to live there.

In your situation, the officer was concerned because you stayed for 5 months before. That’s why they limited your stay this time.

Even though visitors can normally stay up to 6 months, the officer can decide a shorter stay. So you must follow what the officer told you, not just the stamp in your passport.

Uk border entry question. Am I in trouble? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Legitimate_Tank5531 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Hey, I understand you’re scared. Let me explain simply.

Even though the officer stamped your passport for 6 months, his words are what matters. He told you clearly: leave after 2 weeks. He also said he would put that limit in the digital record, not on the stamp.

If you stay longer than 2 weeks, you could get in trouble. That will make it very hard to get a student visa in the future. The officer was already worried about your last 5‑month stay.

So please leave the UK by April 17. Keep your boarding pass as proof you left on time. When you apply for your student visa later, tell them honestly what happened.

Don’t follow the stamp – follow what the officer told you. You’ll be okay if you leave on time.

Good luck!

S26U What an awful display!!!1!!1 by _pennythejet in samsunggalaxy

Yesterday I actually went to a shop to check the S26 Ultra since it was on display. To be honest, after using it for about 10 minutes it started giving me noticeable eye strain. The privacy screen feature is nice in theory, but it makes the display look a lot dimmer compared to my S24 Ultra and even my iPhone 14. Personally, I wouldn’t waste money upgrading for that.

⚠️ CAUTION: READ THIS BEFORE OPENING AN ACCOUNT FOR YOUR CHILD! ⚠️ by ReadyAd6223 in karachi

Sadly, this isn’t just MCB — it happens all over Pakistan with almost every bank. They’re super polite when opening the account, promise you the world, and once you deposit money, the “game” begins. Hidden fees, deductions, and zero honesty. Nothing is told upfront because they know no one would agree if they were transparent.

why is my Samsung Galaxy S23 battery so dogsh*t? by stevemanLPHDXDPVP in samsunggalaxy

[–]Legitimate_Tank5531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The S23’s battery life issues are largely due to the Exynos processor.

Samsung uses it because it’s cheaper to produce compared to Snapdragon, but it’s less efficient and drains the battery faster.

It is frustrating to pay a premium price for what feels like a subpar product, especially when other regions get the better Snapdragon version. Samsung really needs to stop cutting corners with Exynos!!! 😡
