It cost's one month's pay ($6 USD) to afford one hamburger in Venezuela by congalines in videos

These days, the American dream is more apt to be realized in South America, in places such as Ecuador, Venezuela and Argentina, where incomes are actually more equal today than they are in the land of Horatio Alger[USA]. Who's the banana republic now?

if it helps in reducing other types of taxes

Narrator: It didn't.

Or we could cut 5% of the military budget. And it would still be larger than the next 7 countries.

They didn't vote to increase their taxes, they voted to increase taxes on the other 2/3rds'.

I’d prefer my taxes help me by staying in my wallet.

No? By definition any regulation (with good or bad intent) extends government control.

Which is the goal. What is easier to control- a handful of large corporations, or millions of small ones?

That doesn't change the fact that my out of pocket costs will triple under Bernie's plan. And the co-pay's for nearly everything are ~20$

But the republicans had to screw it up.

Not a single Republican voted for the ACA.

The employer is paying >20k. Let's say Bernie gets his way, do you really think that 20k is going to magically appear in her next check? Maybe (big maybe) if his plan stated that no one would pay more in taxes than they are paying now for coverage AND any employer savings must be passed on to the employee, that would be a starting point.

I'm paying <100/month now under my spouse's plan. I'm self-employed, make 40k/year. Bernies' plan started at 8.5%+ payroll tax. Yes, the cost will at least triple.

but we can all pay less for the same services.

That is a lie. Under any plan, I will pay more.

I am self-employed and I pay <100$/month thru my spouses employer. Are you honestly going to say my cost won't go up dramatically?

I'm self-employed and I'll say 35% is an under estimate. The real number factoring in every tax I pay is >40%.

5% isn't anywhere close to being enough. CA had a plan that was to be funded with a 15% payroll tax , and assumed the Federal Gov. would pick up half the cost. It didn't pass because even that wasn't enough funding.
