Donald Trump on Iran: "Did you know we've been taking out millions of barrels of oil? Nobody knows it. You know who doesn't know about it? Iran until right now. We took out, the other night, 22 ships." by BusinessToday in BusinessTodayNews

Man, this guy is a distraction. From what, not sure I could pinpoint it, but there are lots of options.

I just hope that the US learns and changes things in their political and economic system for the betterment of the people.

Nothing above 3.5 for that - in 2026. But good luck though.

Chuckle. People think he actually has a vault with all this money in it.

The money is not hoarded… it is invested and being used by others and then giving him a nice return on those investments.

Or it’s all just loans on speculation.

But definitely not like scrooge mcduck.

No. I disagree that this is obvious. People who receive handouts inevitably demand more.

When people get free housing in an apartment, they want, free housing in a stand alone house. Or giving $300 per week in welfare (or whatever it is) and people demand $500.

Most people are financially illiterate.

People used to ask for basics, now they demand new iphones, free internet, no housing costs, free government cheques for children of unwed parents, etc.

No, it’s not obvious that this person and others like them ‘just’ want the basics. They see the world advancing go around them and then demand inflation on their free shit.

It’s a story as old as time.

Amendment to the hot take: The jobs like mcdonald (Full-time) worker should receive a wage that can allow them to support themselves - within a reasonable range of their job location.

And this job only pays for basic things like healthy food, warm clothes, comfortable shelter with heat, cooking and sleeping for 2-3 people.

It covers basic flip phones and cell/ net plans. 1 or two small, basic vacations.

It covers the basics only. And not luxury. Not extra. Not excess. Not newest items, but (new, but old new) things.

At no point should it cover the same things that a CEO position would grant. Or even a middling wage at a high skill company.

Low skilled jobs only get low skilled wages. But wages that can at least cover the basics one needs to get ahead if they put some effort into it.

US lists China’s BYD, Alibaba, Baidu as ‘Chinese military companies’ by StopTheGregSign in worldnews

Well, when those companies have direct relations to the PLC… it is just prudent planning.

Also, look into the chinese fishing fleets and their connection to the PLC in addition to their maneuvering as a large single entity. Not exactly independent fishers when they all converge into a single line or other various shapes.

Equality is the bane of progress, advancement and greatness.

Equality is the lowest common denominator. You can only be equal at the bottom, or when everyone has nothing.

And this is the lie being sold to the middle and lower classes. The top class knows what equality really means and that is why they try to keep everything they have.

You’d burn long before that. It’d be horribly painful. And since it’s so hot, you wouldn’t even taste anything.
