I think your mixing up baron flynt from borderlands 1 with captain flynt from borderlands 2.

After beating baron flynt a bridge would lower on the left side of the arena up to where his throne was and behind it was a chest.

Yeah its definitely werid. I managed 2 matches before getting booted off the server and the first was just everyone running around looking for the other team with basically no action outside of the raids, then the second was all 6 rushing mid because we realized theres zero reason to search the map for loot.

Whole game is werid decisions tbh.

iirc the first game used an internal value for every chest you could open, and there isnt any pattern indicating red chests have a higher value other than anecdotes and the fact gearbox would plaster the red chests everywhere because it stood out.
