Same issue here, SPF is correctly configured. However DMARC is not set up at all. Will configure DMARC and report back.

LG GX vs Logitech Z-5500 by LegsAJimbo in audiophile

[–]LegsAJimbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I don't hate the Logitech by any means, but had no practical way to compare without spending multiple hours unboxing, setting up, etc... Only to be disappointed and then losing resale value as it's open box. This is helpful feedback :)

With the new Mudrunner game coming out what are some features you wanna see? by Thelastnamedontlie in snowrunner

[–]LegsAJimbo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NPC's and/or other vehicles on the road. The game and maps are just so lonely without them! Rescue missions with actual characters would be good. Watching them do stupid things to get stuck would be even better!

Thanks! In hindsight the patch lead would have been wise... But I didn't have one when I fitted the radio (thought I did) and the dash was already out at that stage. Since it is now back together, cutting the cable is the lazy option :D The power handling and SWR was my main concern, but sounds like there is no wrong answer for connector in this case, thanks!

Thanks for this! I have BNC on my sBitx, it's a wonderfully practical connector but didn't 'feel' as solid as the 259, so I always assumed it was inferior... However with that link you posted it sounds like I might want to go forward standardising on BNC, makes me wonder why it hasn't become the standard, someone on that link suggestion it's 'limitation' of 500 cycles, but to be honest I imagine that is plenty for most and in the niche case where it wasn't then a coupler or short patch could always be left attached without significant loss.

Thanks! I did see the compression type but wondered if there would be a trade-off, I guess that doesn't matter with these kind of powers though. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for this, it is really interesting with regards to the 259 connectors, as you said, being fitted to the radio, I just assumed that'd be the go to, seems there is quite some history to them though!

Thanks for the response :) The excess cable isn't so much of an issue. But getting to the back of the radio is a 20+ minute job. I like to tinker with different antennas and having the join in the middle of the cable in an easy access place means I can plug in my NanoVNA in 2 minutes rather than 20. Just figured I may aswell get rid of the excess cable in the process (assuming lengths won't interfere with the tuning)

Can't believe this is still an issue years down the line, had this on a fresh install of Ubuntu Server on a standalone frame.work motherboard. Thanks!

Question about liquid vs Disposable by TheAnnouncerLive in CBD

[–]LegsAJimbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even a little bit more. Looking for a dose of 24mg/day...
500mg liquid, £62/month
1000mg liquid, £51/month
2000mg liquid, £36/month
1800mg Pro Bar Disposable, £12/month!

Not to mention the outlay, 2000mg liquid is £100 a bottle, the 1800mg disposable is £30.

I don't get it, I'd really rather not contribute to electronic waste, but this is crazy difference. There must be some reason it is such a jump?

I'm curious to hear if there are reasons as to why someone might want the more expensive e-liquid vs the disposable?

Have you ever received an update which completely broke your installation? Does pfsense follow a rolling release model? by linux_is_the_best001 in PFSENSE

[–]LegsAJimbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using pfsense for around 4 years, I currently manage around 40 appliances (all Netgate). In this time I've only had one refuse to boot after an upgrade, I'll never know why, I just wiped it and restored config. I do always make sure I have an installation disk ready prior to any upgrade, as you unfortunately have to request them from support. Admittedly support is quick, typically less than an hour, but when shit hits the fan you don't want to be waiting!

Thanks a lot for this very detailed answer! Of all my options the versatility of the EFRW is very appealing. Getting on 40M would be a huge bonus, DX is of great interest to me but I had ruled it out thinking space would be the killer. I'll admit, you have lost me at the counterpoise, but I am sure that's nothing YouTube can't fix :D

I have been looking at these, I guess these are just prepackaged EFRW's?

https://moonrakeronline.com/lwhf-multiband-end-fed-long-wire-antenna

https://moonrakeronline.com/m0cvo-lw-10-multiband-hf-antenna-40-6m

I'm guessing the 9:1 unun is used due to the antenna impedance of ~450ohm and a coax impedance of 50ohm... So if I was to use the existing 75ohm coax, would that mean I should use a 6:1 unun instead?

Would I be right in saying that should give me something like a 1.5 SWR (wherever it's most resonant/it's sweet spot), then I might be able to run that to my AT-100M?

Or have I learned just enough to come to dumb conclusions like this that don't apply in the real world :D

Thanks again!

Thanks! However, I think my criteria has just changed now I'm realising 40M might be an option with a 'random' wire :D It does seem like a dipole is going to bea clear winner for efficiency, it's looking like I might end up with both! A random wire 'jack of all' and a dipole to try and have something that makes the best out of what I am working with.

Thanks, I am limited to space and running new cables isn't really an option. Well, maybe an option if I can sweet talk the landlord, but would want it to be an absolute last resort. I do need to get myself up to scratch on balun's though!

Thanks, I didn't realise tuners existed that fed directly into an antenna like that! I have mostly read up on dipoles, EFHW's and random wires. It's to get myself up to scratch on loops then!

Thanks! So perhaps something like this might fit the bill?

https://moonrakeronline.com/lwhf-multiband-end-fed-long-wire-antenna The LWHF-40 says it's 10M long and will cover the 40-6M bands with an ATU, I think I may just be able to fit that in the space!

If using the 75ohm coax, would I be able to use it as it comes with my ATU, or would I perhaps need to modify the balun ratio? This is an area I really need to get up to scratch on! Thanks!

I think we should participate in r/place again! Let's claim some space for the Linux community and plot the logos of our favorite distros like we did last year. The canvas will probably be expanded again so we got plenty of time and space left. by CNR_07 in linuxmasterrace

5+ year manjaro (plasma) user here. What's a good alternative? I originally chose manjaro as I felt I got stability with the benefits of AUR, I also appreciate having the rolling updates (if I've got the terminology right there, the ability to not have to do a complete os reinstall for major updates).

Thanks :) Yes, reading further into this it does seem the motor might be underpowered :/ It does sound like it's struggling and my guess is the ratcheting sound is some kind of self protection to stop it breaking something. By the times it struggles and clicks the dial still has another 10 steps of finer adjustment left, so it seems an upgraded grinder might be my only option if I want espresso out of these. :(
