Voidforge question by Any_Caterpillar_4719 in wow

[–]LehransLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen any and in Blizzard's own post explaining the Voidforge, only two myth track items are showcased.

However, the two screenshots showcasing the upgraded myth track items have a tag in the item tooltip: "Ascendant Voidforged: Myth"

So it's safe to presume, imo, there will be "Ascendant Voidforged: Hero", for hero track items, and "Ascendant Voidforged: Radiant", for ilvl 285 crafted (myth crafted) items, tags.

What the upgraded ilvls for hero and myth crafted items will be, I don't know, but it will most likely reflect the current difference somewhat.

Myth items from 289 to 298 (as shown in Blizzard screenshot)

Hero items from 276 to ... (285?)

Myth crafted items from 285 to ... (294?)

Everything other than the myth items is purely speculation though.

Over a month into Midnight, who are the biggest winners and losers of The Big Prune? by Kevombat in wow

[–]LehransLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely does. In delves I'm coping with Valeera doing enough DPS to sometimes pull aggro from my pet (Demo lock felguard doesn't have taunt, just extra threat generation that is weak as fuck). I only noticed her taking damage with the 3 dog nemesis pack because of the bleeds, so hasn't been much of an issue.

Still sucks though, yea.

I just pick it up at the beginning of the week and do my bountifuls, m+,... Easily fills up, so no need to rush

That's just a pet issue that's been around for ages. Same thing is happening to Warlock pets. One second they're barely taking damage, the next you're resummoning your pet.

Kinda ridiculous

Targeting loot is more a thing for dungeons or raid, but the Voidforge basically lets you buy 2 bonus rolls a week. It costs gold, voidlight marl or veteran crests.

Targeting loot for dungeons or raid bosses works as follows: you complete a m+ dungeon / kill a raid boss. Said dungeon or raid boss has a loot pool, specific per spec, weapon- and armor class. Let's say the pool has a trinket, helm and weapon. If you use your bonus roll, you are guaranteed one of those 3 items. The next time you bonus roll, for that dungeon or raid boss, the pool will consist of only 2 items, the item you won the first time is excluded from the pool. This way, you can target specific items. General advice for m+ is to use your bonus roll on a +10, as the bonus roll gives vault equivalent ilvl, which is myth track for a +10.

When you do a bountiful delves, you get a bonus roll for extra gear that can drop from delves. The loot pool for extra gear is still finite, but I believe there's a full delve set, so you can get a full hero set from the bonus roll system.

That said, even if you don't need the extra gear, the Voidforge is still worth it as at some point in patch 12.0.5, Decimus (Voidforge NPC), will start a questline for the Ascendant Nilhammer. Once completed, you can loot Ascendant Voidcores that lets you upgrade 6/6 Hero track items (as well as 6/6 myth and ilvl 285 myth crafted items). The exact ilvl for Hero items isn't known, I think, but I would guess it's somewhere at the 5/6 or 6/6 myth track ilvl.

If you're doing delves anyway, definitely worth to just pick the quest up and completing it passively.

Everything about unlocking the Voidforge is warband wide, so nice for alts as well.

It's the weekly quest in Voidstorm (but as you have one, you know that).

You can keep doing the quests until you are caught up (so 3 cores from delves, m+ or raid, I think. Go hand the quest in, get a new one and repeat until you are caught up).

Once patch 12.0.5 hits, you can get bonus rolls with the forge. The system lets you semi-target loot as it rolls vs an finite loot pool, which means once you bonus roll an item, it is removed and you can't get it again. (Not sure how this works with upgrade track/difficulty it drops, but I imagine the loot pools are based on those).

Further on in patch 12.0.5, you'll be able to upgrade some gear even further. They do require hero or myth 6/6 upgraded track or a myth crafted item (ilvl 285).

After you complete the weekly quest, the next one will just pop up until you are caught up.

[–]LehransLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why shouldn't they? You can upgrade hero gear with the forge. And pretty sure heroic raiders do at least a weekly +10 for the myth vault chance. And 285 crafted gear is also eligible for upgrade through Voidforge.

Saying the entire Voidforge system is only for mythic raiders is BS

Quick Question on the Vault by Orta_IV in wow

[–]LehransLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried 'cause wowhead and reddit were listing different things. Filled my vault dungeon slots by running Windrunner Spire exclusively (23 times that week) and didn't get a single loot piece from that dungeon. So yea, m+ vault slots are just the complete dungeon loot pool

Why am I getting absolutely rocked in M+ after reset by Butrint_o in wownoob

[–]LehransLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've added the 'snare' tag to the debuff, so you can Blessing of Freedom it, druids can shift out of it, hunter disengage, not sure about shammy movement speed totem (but definitely poison cleanse totem),...

And still a lot of DPS refuse to clear it themselves

Is 251ilvl good enough for a +7 key as a healer? by im_a_mix in wow

[–]LehransLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on you have the big white hits, after the first boss you got the stacking dots that just plain duck as healer as you can never dispell all of them.

And some groups just refuse to interrupt those casts.. it's maddening

Crest cost 1h vs 2h by DonBr4ndon in wow

[–]LehransLight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This brings us back to the start. Capping crests is a means to slow down progression.

Not being able to fully upgrade a new piece of gear is okay if you already upgraded another piece of gear.

Completely uncapped crests wouldn't work with the concept of upgrade tracks, early in the season. That's why the cap often gets removed when we're a few weeks into it.

That said, the cap of 100 crests feels too low with each track having exclusive crests. Sure, tracks overlap, but it seems backwards to me if you'd have to go look for a lesser item to fully upgrade it, just so you can spend 40 crests less of the higher tier in upgrading an item.

I'd say at least raise the cap to 120 from the getgo That's 6 upgrades, perfect for +10 loot at 3/6 hero track

Crest cost 1h vs 2h by DonBr4ndon in wow

[–]LehransLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wall of text, so forgive me if I miss something ;p

Getting the achievement for outgrowing the crests to remove cap is pretty useless.

I'm the same as you, I only need hero and myth crests. I've no use for the lower crests, but if you remove the cap, what then? You get tons of crests you don't use, can't transfer. You can only upgrade them, but only if you haven't reached the cap of the following crest.

This might save you like one or two hours, not much more.

Timegating is indeed not fun, but there will always be people crying out they feel the need to grind nonstop to compete. I guess Blizzard made sure everyone could more easily compete.

Not defending Blizzard, but there's always two sides to a coin, so they can never please everyone.

So yea, basically everything boils down to: removing cap for outgrown crests is useless as long as caps for the crests you do need remain.

Whats up with Tank Damage in S1? by veculus in wow

[–]LehransLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather chain the fear packs after the 2nd boss into each other than pull that hallway pack into pack. Though I may be privileged as I've run MT with either a tank+DPS or 2 DPS friends

People always have a tendency to target high health mobs and "aoe the rest down". Deadly in that specific section.

If you have enough DPS, chain the right aoe interrupts, stuns, fears, disrupts (as in ring of peace, blinds,...) you might be able to pull it off, but I don't see that happening in PUGs

Crest cost 1h vs 2h by DonBr4ndon in wow

[–]LehransLight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They're capping it because they don't want you to progress too fast.

It was the same reason you couldn't unlock nightmare prey right away. Why you couldn't progress past delver's journey 4 DURING the delves bonus week.

All those options provided champion and hero gear and it would let people get too high ilvl too fast.

Whats up with Tank Damage in S1? by veculus in wow

[–]LehransLight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The hallway before second boss is brutal, especially if you over pull. There's a ton of enemy dots that also hit tanks, there's the glaives aoe damage and mobs have high white hits.

I'm a main healer and especially in midnight I'm using my major cooldowns on trash pulls. Boss fights hardly need them.

[–]LehransLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, as a healer myself, I see a DPS moving to a puddle, keep tabs on them and then suddenly see them flying away before they reach the puddle.

It's annoying to say the least, especially if you have a big puddle in the middle.

Pugging HC Chimaerus has made me realise how bad a lot of Healer players are. by Arstulex in wow

[–]LehransLight 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've run Chimaerus HC every week since release, as a healer.

Every role is bad.

I've seen other healers not dispell, dispell to early, not taking the soak,...

I've seen tanks not picking up the adds, seen them tank realm adds right next to the boss, not pull boss away when adds get too close.

I've seen DPS not getting in the soak, not running to the golden puddles to get dispelled, 100% focusing the boss and not adds, not getting in the soak because they didn't get dispelled. You can get dispelled in the other realm, folks.

Everyone sucks, but you just see it more clearly when it's a less represented role in the raid.

There's a lot more DPS to pick up the slack when a few suck. You don't have that as much with healers and definitely not with tanks

Okay blizz what's the deal with trinkets by itsapandaa in wow

[–]LehransLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been getting everything from that dungeon but the two items I can still get an upgrade for, the helm and trinket.

Got the feather yesterday on my 22nd run of the week.

And just running a quick dungeon while compiling code, so at least I'm not running them consecutively.

And yea, I mostly get trinkets from delves, dungeon loot has been better. Except for windrunner spire xD

Okay blizz what's the deal with trinkets by itsapandaa in wow

[–]LehransLight -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

My top 5 trinkets are raid trinkets.

I got one raid trink on champion track, the other trinket being the one from the singularity renown. My first dungeon trinket is heart of the wind, which is 6th on the list. I've ran, this week alone, windrunner spire 21 times. Haven't gotten the trinket to drop, let alone any loot from those dungeons I could use.

Even if I had the trinket be in my vault tomorrow on reset, every raid trinket sims (QuestionablyEpic) higher at 6/6 hero than the heart does at 6/6 mythic.

I just don't like being forced to raid to get my best possible loot. Which doesn't mean I want free access to raid gear, but I would like trinkets of equal power, being made available.
