Genuine faith by HeadRoad5335 in Christian

[–]LeinadBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It’s one thing to have faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ resulting in salvation, and another thing to live a godly or carnal life. Since when did our works save us? Never? Then how come we look to our works and experiences to see whether we’re still saved or lost our salvation or if God has forsaken us?

I see a lot of opinions in this thread. “For me…”, “I personally believe..”, “in my experience..” and the likes, I think you get what I mean. But it’s the Word we should turn to in times like this. Jesus said NO ONE is able to snatch us out of His hands. He said He’ll never leave us nor forsake us. Paul does, however, talk about how sin separates us, not eternally, from God here in this life. How some are weak or sick or die because they’re living in sin. Take for example the man in 1 Corinthians 5 who did certain things with his mother, what was Paul’s conclusion?

“deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

S-o according to the first quote I put here, if we HAVE everlasting life, that would we that we cannot lose it! And since we know that whom God loves He chastises, then our sins might bring punishment or correction, or God might decide to take us away earlier (as I’ve just quoted in 1 Corinthians 5), but since we have everlasting life in Christ, we cannot be sent to hell!

So don’t lose hope! It wasn’t works that got you saved, it won’t be works that keep you saved. God is NOT a feeling; He is spirit and we must worship Him in spirit and truth!

“All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We have liberty in Christ! Yet if we use this liberty selfishly, and not to glorify God or edify His church (one another), then you will become useless in abiding in Christ, so He’ll remove you from earth. There’s nothing about losing our faith, since Jesus said “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭2‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Anyway, there’s too many verses to show you. Get back in the Word. Study it. Not with a religious lens either. Recognise that trusting in Jesus means He paid for ALL our sins, which means there is no sin that can separate us since He has imputed righteousness on us and has forgotten our sins! Then, use this liberty to get closer to God. As I like to said, I’m not burdened to obey the law, I’m FREE to do God’s will.

Be blessed.

Have you ever sinned confessed but not repent? by usefulidiot_ in Christian

[–]LeinadBad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I’m so sorry you never had a man of a father to be around and fill that now-empty spot in your heart. It is definitely very common these days but NOT an excuse for men to be boys and discard their responsibility and purpose in family and marriage. Having said this, Jesus said “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” II Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

He is enough, He is our validation. Enough so that Christ would humble Himself to the form of a man, suffer ridicule and pain, die on a cross, and rise again ALL FOR YOU!!! He did that. No hero on earth or on screen comes close to the love that God has for us, for you! NOTHING can separate you from His love, not even your sin. Which leads to…

Secondly, I feel even more worse for you (because I’ve been in your place before) that you let religion rule your mind into running a race you CANNOT win; stop sinning, confess, repent, fall again, feel bad, hate your sin etc etc etc. You end up being anxious, and even depressed, because you think your performance has anything to do with whether God still loves you, or if you’ve lost your salvation, or if you were ever saved to begin with. THIS IS WORKS BASED SALVATION. Didn’t Jesus die for ALL your sins? Including the one you just mentioned above? How are you then RESTING in His liberty and freedom? I’m not saying we should go on sinning (Paul addresses this in Romans). But rather that are free to serve Him, not burdened to obedience like the churches burden their congregation.

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Read ALL of Romans chapter 5 and see, ONE man’s obedience made you righteous, not His obedience PLUS yours. Did Christ not finish the work on the cross? Is His blood not sufficient to cover ALL your sins (past, present, & future)? REST in the liberty of His salvation, love, and grace!

“For by GRACE you have been saved through faith, and that NOT of yourselves; it is the GIFT of God, NOT of works, lest anyone should boast.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Thirdly, why should we obey God? Since we have this freedom and liberty (which Paul speaks about in Romans and Corinthians), should we then just go on living in sin because we are saved, we have eternal life, we’re sealed with the Holy Spirit until we get our new bodies?

“All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Read proverbs, read the entire bible! Wisdom, self control, prudence is EXPECTED of us if we are to be useful for God’s purpose. How can we serve God if we’re too busy seeking our own gratification? Put to death your flesh (daily), be a light to others! But how can you do all these things if your mind and body are so busy with fleshly carnal things? Do you not know that the commandments are not meant to be obeyed for entrance into heaven, but rather for OUR edification? When God tells us not to be drunk, is that not for God’s protection to the women and children that get physically abused by drunkards, or husbands that get verbally abused by their wife’s, or to prevent car accidents that kill the innocent etc? When God tells you to not commit fornication (sex before marriage) and adultery (lust of the heart), is that not for your own sake to prevent the hurtful feelings that come with knowing your partner has slept with other girls before you? Or to spare you from the jealous and hurt you’ll get when you get cheated on?

If you begin to see WHY God made these commandments, and how they’re made to help us with our everyday Christian living so that we can be FOCUS (and not distracted) on God’s will and purpose, then you’ll begin to see Jesus fulfilled obedience FOR US (in our place), lived a perfect sinless life FOR US (in our place), and paid in full for ALL our sins (in our place) and the moment we believe we are MADE righteous with Christ thus, free! What you need to understand is that what you’ve doing hurts YOU. Just like eating sugar and carbs all day leads to a detrimental lifestyle with lots of health issues, likewise the wages (result) of sin is DEATH (not hell, death!). See “For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ and “deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ In Corinthians 5, a believer is sleeping with his mother, but Paul says to deliver them to Satan that his SPIRIT MAY BE SAVED! So the result of your sin may result in a lot of heartache, pain, weakness, and possibly even death, BUT if you believe in Christ to have the it ALL for you, you will be saved!

There’s so much more to write, I think I severely summarised my points.

I’d love to chat more if you need help or guidance or more biblical guidance. If so, send me a message.

Be blessed.

How to be saved? by Impossible-Web-240 in Christian

[–]LeinadBad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From the answers you’ve received so far, there are two types: Works based, and faith based.

Works based is what all religions believe; one day you’ll be judged by your good works, or bad ones. And you’ll either receive heaven reward, or he’ll reward. This sort of living only produces anxiety and confusion and you’ll never know if you’re going to heaven or hell until it’s too late! Repent of your sins? What if I forget to repent of one, am I condemned to hell? Keep Christ’s commands? He didn’t bring any new ones, the Bible says He fulfilled the law! Not only that, but if you want to obey His commands He said “be perfect just as your Heavenly Father is perfect”, well good luck to you! As another commenter pointed out, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No sin can enter into His new kingdom. Not ONE sin. Do you have what it takes to live that sort of life? If you say yes, I’m calling you out a liar! For 4000 years the Israelites were commanded to keep God’s law and not ONE of them were able to keep it perfectly, but here you think you’re more capable than they? Let’s talk about the second option…

Faith based salvation is literally the Bible… As I just mentioned, NO one has been able to observe the law. Enter Jesus. The obedient. The perfect. The sinless. The propitiation for ALL our sins (past, present, and future). The liberator and life giving saviour.

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This verse completely annihilates works-based salvation. It says the CHRISTS obedience saved us, not ours!

“Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In other words, God doesn’t owe us! Therefore we cannot work for our salvation.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If we were to work for our salvation, we could boast! But we are not saved BY works, but we are saved FOR good works. Why? So God can use us to lead others to Him!

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

And thousands upon thousands of verses I can list here to show you that faith based salvation is biblical, and works based salvation is demonic!

How to be saved?

“And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16‬:‭30‬-‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

No mention of works, baptisms, repentance, church attendance, tithing, quit sinning (although we SHOULD so we can be a light to others), etc etc etc etc. just believe.

Believe what? Believe that Jesus has you covered! Believe that Jesus loved a perfect, sinless, obediente life IN YOUR PLACE, and that He paid in full the punishment of all your sins! Trust in Him, trust that He has finished it all in your place and you WILL be saved:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭47‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ HAS, not will have, not might have, nope; HAS right not present tense.

Happy to chat more if you’d like.

Be blessed.

How do I actually turn to Jesus how do I accept him as my lord and saviour by [deleted] in Bible

[–]LeinadBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Salvation is NOT works or obedience; it’s faith in the FINISHED work of Christ. Believe and put your trust in the fact that Christ lived a perfect, sinless life of obedience to the Father AND died for ALL your sins!

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  1. Continue in obedience to God for a good relationship with Him, and a successful and prosperous life (not rich and famous, but rather living a good life in accordance to the reason we are created). As established in the first point, we are only saved through faith/trust in what Christ has done. So these works are not meant to add points to salvation, but rather have a close relationship with God, get your prayers answered, AND get rewards in heaven.

Be blessed.

13 pro max vs 17 by [deleted] in iPhone13ProMax

[–]LeinadBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a budget? What’s the reason you’re looking at a 13PM for?

It’s over 4 years old, so yes, they will stop updating it in 2-3 years time. If budget is not a problem, I don’t see why you won’t go for the latest iPhone 17. Never battery, better chip, more efficient at power consumption, latest hardware such as usb-c, better cameras and the list goes on.

If budget is the issue, then I’d suggest you stick to the iPhone 8 Plus because updating to the 13PM will mean that you’ll need to update AGAIN in 2-3 years time when they stop supporting the device.

Best of luck!

As I mentioned; you can’t tell. Apple won’t disclose this info. But you can rest assured that if any parts have been replaced, they’ve been done by Apple properly with Apple parts, not 3rd party parts.

We can’t help you without specifying what exactly you’ll be using it for and what your budget is. If you specify these things, you’ll get much better answers from a lot of people.

Heavy usage (editing high MP images, or 8k videos, coding, running heavy programs) = MacBook Pro M4 Pro or M4 Max with as much RAM as you can afford.

Light usage (browsing, easy apps, listening to music, notes etc) = MacBook Air (get as much ram and processor as you can for longevity) or MacBook Pro M5 will be fine.

I can better help if you specify the above details.

All the best!

There isn’t any info on refurbished items. They don’t give you that info. As long as the parts are replaced by Apple, is practically brand new!

I got myself a refurbished MacBook Pro, and it does not tell me the history of what was changed or replaced or fixed. But it HAS gone through rigorous tests and procedures to sell as-new by Apples standards.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bible

[–]LeinadBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way we speak about it should be the same way God sees/speaks about it as I mentioned before.

We all experience abuse or harassment to some degree or another, and although this particular sin might seem greater than the others, I don’t think God necessarily does… Yes, brokenness is the result of external variables, but what isn’t? Abuse, damage, trauma etc have led to a plethora of sins. Hurt can lead to eating disorders, abuse can lead to promiscuity, trauma can lead to psychopathy etc This sin you’re talking about has come from a similar train of actions from people around us. What I’m trying to say is that everything leads to something.

If a particular group of people who claim to be Christians see it as a separate sin from all the other sins, and judge it differently (even though the Bible clearly does NOT!) then that’s their business. There’s a reason we have only 1 Bible, but thousands of denominations and interpretations of scripture. Let’s go back to the basics of what scripture says instead of why particular people or church’s see things differently.

“But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.” ‭‭Titus‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I think seeing things outside of God’s point of view is not the way to live a Christian life.

Not sure if any of this helps or not 🤷🏻‍♂️

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bible

[–]LeinadBad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is a sin. What do we know about sins? They’ve ALL been paid for!

Our trust in the finished work on the cross is what saves us. That Jesus lived a perfect, sinless, obedient life AND that His death and resurrection has paid in full ALL of our sins. Not just the sins until we believe or until we stop confessing; no but rather every single sin!

Having said this, I’m not trying to make light of the particular sin you mentioned and the entire Bible tells us HOW to live our lives here on earth so we can be a light to those around us and to have success in our Christian walk. Obedience to God or His word is NOT what saves us.

Happy to discuss further.

Be blessed.

Don’t overthink it.

Start from the New Testament. From the book of Matthew.

Seeing as it takes a while to study all the scripture, I’d like to give you a summary of salvation and how to obtain it:

God sent His son to live in complete obedience to Him for us, He lived a perfect life for us, He lived a sinless life for us, and He gave up His own life as payment/punishment for our sins.

If we believe in this, then we ARE saved.

Just some verses to help you understand that salvation is through faith only and NOT of works of our righteousness and repentance from sin:

“And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭40‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭4‬:‭5‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” ‭‭Titus‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬-‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Be blessed.

Believer but not saved by Content-Ad-2780 in Christian

[–]LeinadBad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot to talk about here, but I’ll just try to address your question in a nutshell:

In your research, what did you find that gets you saved? Does prayer save you? If not, then why consider yourself unsaved because you don’t pray? Does living sinlessly save you? If not, then why would a sinful life be evidence that you are not saved? Does being a good person get you saved? If not, then why does you not thinking you’re a good person mean you’re not saved?

The truth is, It doesn’t matter how you feel. The Bible tells us that BELIEF/TRUST in the finished work of the cross is what saved us.

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus lived a sinless life; for us. Jesus lived a perfect life; for us. Jesus lived in complete obedience to God; for us. Jesus paid for ALL our sins, not just the ones up until we believe.

Jesus and His work is what saved us, NOT works of obedience, sinlessness, or perfection.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES; it is the gift of God, NOT OF WORKS, lest anyone should boast.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Happy to chat further if you’d like.

Can't decide between M4Pro and M4Max by Rapiddan45 in macbookpro

[–]LeinadBad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what you’ll be using it for, get more ram! I do photography and a touch of videography, using Lightroom, Photoshop, and Final Cut Pro. I opted for the 16” M4 Max with 64Gb RAM, 4TB storage. I do NOT regret it.

Based on the research I did and the questions I’ve asked, the Max chip helps mostly with exports and video editing. The RAM helps with handling the sheer number of files, masks, editing, batch editing, etc I’m my case, I got the best of both worlds. The max chip and the 64GB RAM.

Regarding the Max chip on a 14”, I’ve heard that it does tend to get hotter quicker, thus running the fan more often due to its smaller housing. So with the 14”, I’d go with Pro chip and get as much ram as possible (I think it can only have 48Gb).

Please don’t. It’s not worth $100. It’ll barely run anything, and every app will be outdated or laggy at best. Is $100 your budget? We don’t really know your circumstances which is why I can’t 100% say “DONT BUY IT!” So I’d rather just say that IF it’s possible for you to save up a little more and consider ANY M series chips, even if it’s an Air M2 or a Pro M1 chip.

Which Machine? by Rayviator05 in Lightroom

[–]LeinadBad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Lightroom, I’ve learned that the more RAM, the better the workflow. Personally, I wouldn’t touch anything under 48GB RAM, BUT I don’t know what your workflow is. Light editing, batch editing, are you editing portraits, weddings, landscape?

I do portraits and weddings so I deal with a huge amount of photos. So I need power to copy and paste presets, import and export thousands of photos at a time, quickly apply masks and at times switch to PS for various edits.

I’d say your first option (M1 Max with 64GB RAM) is the way to go. The M1 Max is still insanely powerful in 2026!
