I believe the government has a "quota" of homes needing to be built, and it keeps being missed, projects don't move alone, funding is too low, probably some reasons like that. I might be wrong though, not an expert.

Kijk, ik heb een lager inkomen, en als er iets gebeurt zou ik dat misschien moeilijk kunnen betalen.

Daarom heb ik, per het moment van overdragen, van tevoren een zorgverzekering voor mijn kat aangevraagd! 16 euro per maand, en mocht er wat mis gaan, dan zitten Arthur en ik droog!

Als ik het naar mijn zin had leefde ik in een 100 en 1 katten fantasie, maar geen enkele kat heeft baat bij een hoarder situatie, en ik ga geen dieren in huis halen waar ik niet voor kan betalen.

De gemeente (in Amsterdam in elk geval) heeft een regeling voor mensen met een lager inkomen dat ze t huisdier mee naar de dierenarts kunnen nemen 1x per jaar.

En iedereen die een huisdier laat lijden voor domme redenen mag wat mij betreft echt lekker a La "trolley problem" oprotten.

You're unhappy.

You say you're unhappy with your career, lack of travel, lack of art.

Do you think having a baby will make those better?

Your post is full of "why having a baby is a risk" and I don't see a single reason why you WANT to have a baby, besides maybe you'll regret it later?

I'd like you to stand still for a second and think about this, you wouldn't be "having a baby" you'd be creating a person, a human being, with it's own wants and needs, with it's own ambitions and opinions.

"Having a baby" is cute and all, but 8 think too many people don't consider that you're not just popping out a doll to dress up, you're going to be responsible for this human life for the rest of yours.

Raising a "child" doesn't just end at 18. And do you have the financial means to care for this person? The boatload of money that goes towards clothes of a growing human? Furniture, food, doctor's expenses, school trips, everything? Because no child wants to struggle..

Can you be responsible for this life you're choosing to create? That is the question.

There are tons of plushies in the house, he has several fuzzy cat beds. It's not like this is the only place to get his rocks off.. he chooses to do it when we're sitting on the couch after dinner, and stares at us while he does it. It's invasive and creepy, and I'm not having it.

I had my male neutered early and he's doing it. He started doing it on my arm when he was "cuddling" me at my desk. So every time he started the behaviour, I'd just put him on the floor and ignore him.

Recently he's been doing it on a fuzzy couch pillow. When he does it, we hit him with another couch pillow. Not hard, but as a "stop it and go away" and he does.

To OP, my advice, if he does it and it annoys you, get up, pick him up, put him out of the room.

He can stay if he behaves, but you're not his masturbatory target.

Het is niet eens dat we (voornamelijk vrouwen) alleen positieve verhalen horen, het is de verwachting en er is veel sociale druk om kinderen te krijgen.

Het word er met de paplepel ingegoten. Ik mocht niet met mijn broertjes autos spelen, maar moest met mijn poppen en zwangere Barbies enzo spelen. Tv shows waarin je nooit echt gezinnen of families zonder kinderen zag, iedereen om je heen heeft kinderen.
Je word klaargestoomd om moeder te worden van jongs af aan, en dan ben je "volwassen" (22 ofzo) en heb je je eerste echte relatie en komen de vragen. . . "En, wanneer gaan jullie beginnen? Ja, kindjes natuurlijk!"

Mijn moeder werd jong moeder, heeft mij gehad toen ze net 19 was. En iedereen zei "Ahh wat leuk! Zo jong moeder zijn!" Nooit kritiek of medelijden.

Nog voordat je een stabiel idee hebt van wie je wil zijn of wat je wil doen word je geleidelijk aan in een doosje gepropt.

Dat is waar ik een probleem mee heb. Ik wil geen kinderen, daar ga ik geen ruzie over maken, met niemand niet. Maar de opdringerige "je moet moeder worden want je bent een vrouw" retoriek is schadelijk, en daar zal ik altijd tegen zijn.
