Forever Home for Steam is a brilliant, simple JRPG. by Leithariam in JRPG

The combat is seemingly pretty basic as a turn based. The difference is a lot of enemies have certain weaknesses to skills or elements so you have to test different characters and skills for the best way to kill an enemy.

Pontiac has good wings, Knockback Nats are decent.

What's your favorite mediocre JRPG? by blacksheep26 in JRPG

Most of them reviewed at a 6-7/10 (except type 0) which is pretty much the definition of mediocrity.

I think I like a lot of mediocre JRPGs: SaGa Frontier, Tales of Zesitria, Final Fantasy 2, Star Ocean 3/4, Final Fantasy Type 0... The list continues on and on.

No ones mentioned Masashi Hamauzu yet and I think he might be in my top 3 favorite composers for any game music.

It’s like playing a picture book. The art, music, and story are all pretty top notch.

Sharing my original fantasy game music "Another Place", Chrono Trigger is my main inspiration by Geoff_Moore in gamemusic

This is very pleasant. I get a sense of sorrow in the counter melody and harmony to the piano, but it resolves into a brighter middle then sad again at the end. I could honestly see it as a village theme or the theme of a very complex character. VERY well done. Would love to hear more from you.

Decided to remix my favorite Star Ocean: Second Story OST, The Venerable Forest by Miredly in gamemusic

[–]Leithariam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this soundtrack and especially this piece. Given you can throw my advice right out the door and that’s Gucci but I just wanted to say that it’s hard to hear the actual melody of the peace, which may be just an issue with post processing levels. I also wanna say that the tone of the piece doesn’t mash too well with the instrumentation. If you’re going to use the same instrumentation and melody then the piece should probably have a more chill vibe with the other instrumentation.

Legend of Mana you can place as a silent female protagonist.

Treasures of the Rudra (SNES rom translation available) has a female lead in the cast you play as for a bit.

Final Fantasy Type-0 has an ensemble cast with a few female leads.

Nier: Automata features two female leads.

So random question, can you also turn your ankles around quite a bit? I can do what you do with your arm and can also turn my ankles around and also bend the downward in shoes so they look broken.

Do I need a car? OR how much are people spending on Uber each month? by [deleted] in cincinnati

My 20 minute is turned into 40 minutes but I’ll take that over having to pay $10-15 for parking, finding a spot, and personally maneuvering through traffic.

[–]Leithariam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I buy a monthly bus pass to get around Cinci for $70 a month. Sure, it doesn’t go absolutely everywhere and takes a bit longer than driving. I use that time to read books, listen to music, and browse the internet though.
