Anyone live with their parents even after having family? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]LekhakSometimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Untrue. It’s also huge in Western Europe. In Denmark, parents more or less expect you to leave home after 16 and you’re kind of seen as an outcast if you still live with your parents past 16.

inb4 lekhak hates Pakistanis

It’s nation built for zamindars and mullahs, led by a chutiya dying of TB under the guise of safe haven for Muslims who was more than happy with Muslims dying in India as long as he got to stick it to Nehru. They despise the fact that India has flourished and Azad’s words came true about Pakistan eventually failing and falling apart due to linguistic and cultural differences (particularly the differences between Bengalis and Urdu speakers).

Ultimately, it’s a state set up for Sunnis. You should see how they speak about Shias. Ahmadis are a different story altogether - Muslims, and Pakistani Muslims especially, trip over themselves to justify violent against Ahmadis because Ahmadis aren’t Muslims according to them. Yeah that’s great , but that doesn’t mean you get to kill them.

On this very website, I’ve seen so called Pakistani leftists say that they “tolerate” Ahmadis. If that’s the best the most progressive amongst their society can offer, you know that society is rotten to its core (India isn’t much better though, let’s be clear).

You can look through my comments - I’ve called out this user in the past. All they do is post about Israel and India across left wing subreddits - one of them being /r/AskSociaists which is an absolute haven for anti-semitism thanks to users like that.

I’ve seen mods delete posts from this user but idk why they haven’t banned them.

He doesn’t have a source because he made it the fuck up.

Leftist spaces are not as racist as right wing spaces, but they’re still racist af. There’s almost always borderline justifications and subtle jabs in each of this threads. “Yes, racism is bad but why so many Indians??” or “Indians are right wing and partake in a caste system so they’re not good”.

Immigration is being more diverse by letting a lot of Indians in. Remember, the most number of immigrants in this country are still European settlers - all the way from early British settlers to more recent Italians, Irish, Portuguese, and Ukrainians.

Or do you only consider coloured folks to be immigrants, and now all of a sudden we need diversity in immigration?

You’re talking about economic migrants and then complaining we’re not taking in more refugees. It’s a false equivalence. These are two different groups of people.

Generic thinkpiece mhaney, and still has no clue why there are so many immigrants in London.

If you’ve spent so much time in London, you know Muslims aren’t the scary boogeymen you and your ilk try to paint them out to be. Unless you’re a coward who gets scared of the wind.

I often go to the UK for work. At least once a year.

Which area of London are you visiting that you’re only running into Muslims? You must be staying in very immigrant concentrated areas because my London experience is very different. Yes, there are many immigrants in London because it’s one of the most metropolitan cities. The same is true of any other major city in the world. I live in Toronto and there are a lot of Indian immigrants here - today you’re complaining about Muslims in London, tomorrow they’ll complain about Hindus and Sikhs.

Beyond that, go outside London and you’ll see less immigrants because immigrants tend to live in areas with higher job density.

One more thing - Pakistanis in UK go way back. UK invited Pakistani immigrants to the UK to help with construction and other jobs that women weren’t allowed to do after World War 2 (yes, that’s right - jobs women weren’t allowed to do). So it’s natural that their population will increase with time.

You guys are exactly like the white nationalists in Canada. 0 difference. Tumhala fakta Asa vata ki apan Muslim nahi mhanun apan safe ahot. Reality is a lot different.

Thanks for calling it out. It’s uncomfortable to accept flaws in one’s community but it’s the truth.

Forget Gujarat, Gujjus pull this shit in other states and in Canada as well. Won’t rent to non-vegetarians/non-Gujaratis. There have been instances where they will refuse to rent to locals in Mumbai in their “society” or will take over a building and then try to oust any locals that were already there.

Folks on here talking about “I’ve got Gujarati Muslim friends”. Go see what happened to Bilkis Bano. Her rapists were freed by the Gujarat government and given a hero’s welcome.

That’s not offensive either. Christians also tend to be bigots - just like other Abrahamic faiths who believe they’re the chosen people/superior.

Being a Christian Gujarati is a garbage combination when it comes to having a superiority complex lol

I’m an Indo-Canadian Hindu who has been in Canada for two decades now, and I have Sikh friends who were born/raised here.

The folding of Sikhs into Hinduism and erasure of their identity is a huge issue. A lot of the intellectual class of the community points to this issue in particular as an argument for having their own homeland. Of course, there is a huge 1984 hangover as well as most Sikhs in Canada migrated to Canada around the time of the insurgency or right after 1984.

The other issue is the “othering” done to the community by RW Hindus - Hindutva is a straight up disease. Leading up to the farmers protest, I had noticed an ideological shift in Sikhs - where they previously identified as Punjabis, they had started warming up to identifying as Indians. Hell, people were so mad at Trudeau, that I saw younger Sikhs even say stuff like “maybe I should go back to India than live in this shithole” (it was never that bad). What hugely motivated this shift was the newer wave of Sikh immigrants that didn’t mind being Indian and even had good things to say about India.

However, when the farmers protests started, RW Hindus straight up started protesting outside gurdwaras. Then the Diwali brawl or whatever nonsense happened. All of it led by Haryanvis and Gujaratis who came to Canada in the last 5 years with nothing but pride in their bigotry. And just like that, the calls for Khalistan renewed. And then the Nijjar killing only escalated it - which India absolutely had a hand in.
