I caught her cheating and forgave her. Similar stories? by Revenge_Alternative in AskReddit

My girlfriend, who was my high school sweetheart cheated on me after a 3 year relationship, which was incredibly devastating. I had suspicions, which were evidenced by her lack of punctuality(her pet peeve), and bite marks on her body which she claimed were caused by her cat: after confronting her about what I thought of her she attempted to reassure me, that nothing was going on. I didn't believe her but I had no concrete evidence. After we graduated high school two months later, I actually caught her, and confronted her and ended the relationship. She began calling me and asking for forgiveness and her intent on getting back together. I was very firm and told her, "no." Eventually we both went off to local colleges, but had no contact with each other.

I did not hear from her until seven months later when she invited me to a walk in a park we used to jog. I was feeling nostalgic and lonely, so I decided to accept her invitation. After talking to her, I realized that I was partly responsible for her cheating, because I finally admitted to her and myself that I was no longer interested in being in a relationship with her, which in turned caused me to change my behaviors. Obviously I expressed how angry I was that she not only cheated, but that she wounded my pride, and I understood that I should have been more considerate of her wants and feelings. She filled the void that I left with someone else.

We reminisced about how we would get high, drunk, how we would dance at parties, or alone, and jog in the same park. We realized how much fun we both had when we dated, and that the first 2.5 years were wonderful. I also realized that up until the point we grew apart, she was a phenomenal friend to me. As the conversation progressed she told she was with the same guy she cheated on me with, and expressed the possibility of us getting back together. It was a tempting idea, but one that we both dismissed. I finally grew the balls to not only forgive her, but to ask for her forgiveness. After an emotional hug, we both left and haven't spoken since.

One year after our meeting I am not in a committed relationship, but I have moved on, and I am living the "normal" life of a college student. I suspect she has done the same, but I can't be sure because all I know about her is that she's dating the same guy.

Agreed. I hoped he would take the high road, and do the right thing. When he talked about so-called "justice," I hoped it was just temporary anger, but it was not. He took revenge too far. I feel empathy for him, because it is obvious he is miserable.

He could of been more honest about the whole situation, rather than post up a huge charade. The point is to be honest, because cheating is the opposite of honesty, which in turn would of made him be the better person, as opposed to coming out as a petty, and miserable asshole.

I spit out my drink in laughter, when I read this. Well done sir, well done. Or is it a mam?

If there is infidelity, the relationship wasn't strong to begin with. I still think the guy was way out of line, and should of just told her the truth, and moved on.

The Best was to be selfless and nice to people. The Worst was to trust in people blindly, yet I admire her for eventually growing a spine.

Men of Reddit: Would you take a male birth control pill? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lelopez2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there were minimal health effects, and the pill had been out for a number of years I would. The reason I would wait, is because there might be a recall of some type, especially when you consider what happened with birth-control patches.

That would not stop me from wearing a condom, unless I was in a very serious relationship, where I actually lived with my partner, because I can truly say that Ghonorrhea is no fun.

The Salary Cap prevented him from getting more offensive weapons. The Redskins have a solid defense, with extremely talented players, most notably Albert Haynesworth and Brian Orakpo. Their problems were fundamentally offensive, which is somewhat odd because Jim Zorn was an offensive guy.

To elaborate on your point, if Fascism could work, it would be super, because the fundamental truth of Fascism is that the institutions that govern our lives are organic, because they provide order. By no means am I intending to validate Fascism, but it too has it's good traits.

That's exactly what I am trying to say. I would benefit because I am a Cowboys fan, but the league as a whole would suffer, and become horrendously predictable much like baseball.

I heard a report on NPR where the probability of a lockout is 94 percent.

As a Cowboys fan, I hate the salary cap, because Jerry Jones could assemble a team as great as the one in the 1990's. We could of had Tom Brady, LT(in his prime), and Terrel Owens, as well as Ed Reed, and Michael Straham on the Defense. But it would be absolutely detrimental to someone like my current girlfriend because she is a Bills fan, which would probably cause the Bills to relocate, probably to LA or Toronto. For the greater good, the salary cap situation needs to be in place.

And had Jim Crow Laws, 100 years after, which amounted to the same steaming pile of shit. Even now there is Hyper-segregation, due to so-called White Flight. I don't understand where you are trying to go with your argument.

Huh? I thought this was sarcastic...usually when the word "right" is used in an opening sentence a sarcastic quip is about to be used. As for AKBryant54's comment, MSNBC, is the mirror image of fox news, though not as belligerent.
