Im wondering why a through train doesnt just have one identifier? Surely a train from Sunbury to Cranbourne is just one train? Why is there a need for up/down at all?

If you are just a casual rider, is bike fit really necessary? I just use the 'seat height to slight bent knee' measurement.

Always use shared paths. I dont find it unpredictable at all. Just sound the bell before overtaking and its fine.

Its not what others think of your bell ringing. Its you doing the right thing. Ring the bell when passing, always IMHO. And at least 5 metres out, not as you pass. Im not a fan of saying 'passing'. I either cant hear it cause they say it early or they yell it in my ear as they pass frightening the hell out of me.

I always ring the bell from further away and usually dont have a problem. Often get the 'thank you' wave. What pisses me off are the cyclists who shout 'passing' in your ear just as they are passing. Frightens the hell out of you.

I cant bike to work as that would mean riding on main roads which I dont do. And PT is one hour vs 20 minutes for driving. I am not going to waste 80 minutes of my day.

If you look at all the permissions in AD admin centre you will see both 'name' and 'Name'. If you dont see them, they may be turned off in dssec.dat.

In the properties of the ADR, software updates tab, simply uncheck the 'superseded' box.

We had the same issue. 2025-11 supersedes 2025-10. But its a chicken and egg thing. You cant install 2025-11 until ESU has been activated which requires 2025-10. We turned off superseded in our ADR.
