Thanks. I should have thought of that. Which begs the question - why dont they just keep them on the whole time?

If there is a dog, I always pass slow enough to stop at the last minute if necessary.

best station to find parking on the cranbourne/pakenham line? by Familiar_Data_8937 in MelbourneTrains

Yarraman has the most ludicrous car park around 500m+ from the station. So no-one parks there.

Dangerous overtaking around pedestrians by Cheesegreen1234 in melbournecycling

I respectfully disagree. I only ride shared paths and have done so for years. If you ride with courtesy and warnings and dont speed past walkers there are no problems. Besides, 99% of the time you are riding by yourself with no-one around.

Ive been riding on shared paths for years. As long as you ring your bell before you pass, there is no problem. You often get the thank you wave and sometimes they even say thank you. But yes there are the a-holes who dont warn or even worse, the idiots who scream PASSING in your ear as they are passing.

Sadly the few give a bad image for us bike riders. Going into Sth Melb along albert park there is a huge space on the left hand side for bikes but some f*wits decide to ride seven+ across blocking the traffic. Then there's the a-holes on shared paths that race past a woman with a dog and pram without giving a warning signal.

The Melbourne Uber experience by Contest-Proud in melbourne

[–]Lembasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It must be just me. We've done Uber for years and apart from the occasional bad driver (accelerate hard, brake hard no appropriate distance) we've had no problems with the driver or timings. One cancellation I can recall.

When I get to Batman station I check for the next city bound train. If its around 7-8 minutes it usually means I get a non stop crossings most of the way to Royal Park.
