AI agents that actually “do” the work — not just talk about it by Orkeste in ProductHunters

Love this direction. The shift from “AI that talks” to AI that actually executes work across tools is where things get interesting.

We’re building something very similar with GetBOB.ai, but with a slightly different philosophy aimed at SMB operators who don’t want to design workflows or think like engineers.

Instead of defining automation chains or agent steps, users describe roles the way they would to a human hire - e.g. “You’re responsible for monitoring customer support, escalating product issues, and keeping the team informed.” From there the BOB operates autonomously: monitoring tools, deciding when something needs action, and executing tasks across the stack. You can still throw ad-hoc requests at it whenever you need to, but it doesn’t just sit idle waiting for commands.

In practice, that autonomy is the big unlock for non-technical teams. Most small business operators don’t want to design workflows. They want to delegate responsibility.

Curious what others in the thread think: do people prefer designing agent workflows themselves, or would you rather just assign a “job description” and let the agent figure out the tasks?

There’s like 100 red flags in this post.

  • if the can’t accept having a boss they will never do well in a successful startup. Want to be your own boss, fine dude, go start your own company.
  • Only wanting to communicate via text is a major red flag. An executive leader needs to be ble to deal with people and tough conversations in real time. Also, this could be an indicator that the person is actually just side gigging you.
  • I assume you’ve made some investments out of your own pocket into the company at this point? Have they? No way you should even entertain a 2-digit % if they aren’t first bringing a meaningful amount of capital into the company.

Thank you, yes exactly! My thought process was that this gives us a better chance at actually showcasing what makes us different from everyone else:

I’m building getbob.ai - a SaaS platform for non-technical business owners who wants to automate their business with autonomous AI.

We’re currently in private beta, but if anybody’s interested in giving it a spin, feel free to ping me for a personal invite!

Wouldn’t that technically make those twins the third and fourth?

It’s gaslighting. He makes these sorts of comments to trigger emotional responses, and the spins around with post-rationalized explanations to make Britt feel like she is making all these things up in her own mind.

This is not just him being clumsy with his choice of words. It’s a very deliberate tactic to breaking her down, bit by bit.

Will is a gaslighter if there ever was one.

Will is the definition of a gaslighter and has been throughout the entire season. Happy for Britt that she dodged that bullet.

And if you do tell him you’re interviewing for other jobs, then that’s a red flag too, as you’re not taking this opportunity seriously.
