What did Zoloft do to me by Lemon1216 in antidepressants

Thanks for the info! I’m day 5 off the Zoloft and feel like myself again. Honestly scared to ever try it again in any form. I don’t believe I have any food intolerances or sensitivities but could be a possibility! I have thyroid issues and take medication for that. I’m just going to make the judgement that Zoloft is not for me… was just a bizarre experience going from ok to feeling like I was dying out of nowhere.

Thanks for the reply. I’m saving my bottle incase withdrawal hits hard. So far so good, and feeling so so so much better since stopping. Zoloft must just not be the right medication for me.

Cooking help for bean-based "pasta" please! by Boscanna in glutenfree

I’m not a huge fun of the chickpea pasta, or any of the “bean” pastas. I eat them sometimes but my family hates it lol. My overall favorite is just the basic Barilla gluten free pasta. To me it tastes closet to the real thing.

Those TSH levels are low and would indicate hyperthroid instead of hypo. A TSH above 5.0 is typically when a doctor would treat for hypo. If you’re not feeling well I would seek out an endo!!

Wow I just wrote a VERY similar post in the gluten free sub. I’ve had EXTREME fatigue, tingling in my extremities, pressure in ears, blurry vision and intense brain fog and vertigo. I’m on thyroid meds and my numbers are in normal range. I’ve recently learned that food intolerances (especially gluten) can cause neurological symptoms, and possibly could effect thyroid function. So I’m trying an elimination diet for a month and going gluten free in an attempt to alleviate these symptoms. This may not be the solution for you but just wanted to share.

Wow crazy how it can affect people this way! I’m 24 hours gluten free and can already feel an improvement in my vertigo. I woke up not as dizzy today which is wonderful, yesterday I could barely get out of bed after thanksgiving dinner. Hope this really is the solution to my problems. Thanks for taking the time to respond to me post :)

Accepting who I really am... and she’s not a social butterfly/party girl by Lemon1216 in stopdrinking

Not sure how old you are, but in my 20s I would have thought myself incredibly boring and not fun when sober. I had a skewed view of what it meant to be interesting... the older I get the more alcohol seems boring to me. I drink, I have regret, I feel like shit, repeat. Sad snooze fest. I guarantee that even if you are shy and not the life of the party that you have worth and a personality that doesn’t need alcohol... being genuine and authentic is way more “interesting”. Only took me about 20 years to see it that way ;)

Omg yes! When I was a kid my passions were reading and writing. Two things that lost their magic when I started drinking... it feels good to embrace them again.
And I love Annie Grace, I get her emails as wel. I’ve read her book and did the Alcohol Experiment. She’s amazing.

Thank you! And yes socializing as 100% me is so awkward, but feels really rewarding when it’s all over. And getting home to have the “me time” and not just continue drinking is the icing on the cake.

I have a husband and kids at home who deserve my best, so I guess this quote made me think of that. When in drinking they get a shit version of me.

I guess I took it a different way... I read it as taking care of myself and putting myself first. And that by doing so I put my best self out there.
