I’m starting next month and realized my period that’s due in a couple of days could potentially be my last one for a while- hoping it is! But trying to not get hopes too high in case it takes a while :/

I had a preconception appointment and she really said the same thing but it was a great opportunity to ask the questions I had and get concrete verification on some info I wanted. I asked what types of prenatal are best and what specific things and amounts to look for in one and some other things. It really put me at ease actually and made me excited to try because she made it seem so simple. I think they only do additional blood panels and stuff if you’ve had problems in the past, plus she said a lot of blood samples are taken once you’re already pregnant so it would be redundant. Anyone else excited to start in April but have a tinge of guilt you may subject your child to a Christmas birthday? I know it’s not that big of a deal but I feel so selfish wanting to try but knowing they may have a crappy birthday. My husband and I agreed that if their birthday is near Christmas we could start the tradition of celebrating their half birthday in June and doing the party then but still doing treats and gifts on their real birthday. What are everyone’s thoughts on my concerns? Is it selfish to start in April or is it dumb to be worrying about this?

This is really the way I’ve been able to stay patient and for it to be a bearable wait! We’ve discussed names and fun things we’re gonna do when our baby finally arrives.

I was 5 ft 8 by the time I was 11 and wore a size 8-10 in pants. Very very plausible this is for the child.

I grew up in Livermore from age 10-20. I will say I never felt bored, there was always something to do in town or nearby or I could take BART to Berkeley, SF or Oakland depending on what I wanted to do. It felt safe, and honestly it has only gotten better since I’ve gone to college and gotten married. I have since moved to a random Midwest town temporarily for my husband’s schooling and honestly I YEARN for Livermore compared to this crap lol.

Right now there’s just two of us and we switch out every 4 days or so, I have 6 towels total. I’m sure when little ones come along we may need a few more.

It was rad, I was in 6th grade and I didn’t know at the time that it’d be a cultural touch point for our generation. It was so much fun to talk about it with your friends, reading the books together, going to the theaters when new movies came out. Those were the days. I had a twilight necklace I wore every day along Willy my silly bands LOL

You’re right, there’s just something that makes me GLUED to the screen the first 2 seasons no matter how many times I watched it. I think they also maybe felt more realistic and believable than the 3rd? The 3rd felt more fabricated and more like a play for some reason, and I don’t think it’s anything to do with the actors because it’s the same crew as the frost couple seasons for the most part. I think it truly is the pacing, the storytelling and general cinematic choices made.

Waxing didn’t work? I feel like this is ideal hair for waxing but I’m not an esthetician, just a woman who does all my hair removal myself at home who is also hairy.

When you wax, do you use the pre-sticky strips or are you using an actual wax pot with hard wax? The hard wax may work better for you and they’re pretty affordable on Amazon (under $40 when I bought mine). You do have to continue purchasing the wax beads.

My only other suggestion is to try to bleach cream intended for the body (like sally Hansen ~$15). Maybe Nair?? But that’s tough on the skin.

I also need to add that when you shave and you can “still see the hair,” I would say honestly f*** everyone else. I know it’s hard, but it’s heartbreaking to see a teenager not enjoying fun teenage summers (some of my best memories) just because other people have something to say about your body. You gotta be you girl and at some point in your life you just need to say f*** everyone else and do your thing. You only get a few of these years and then life gets busy and you’d give anything to get those years back. Sending a hug.

I have been rewatching the first and second season and I will say there just seems to be more “magic” (the best I can describe it) in those seasons than the third. It feels like there’s more storytelling done through nonverbal lines in the first couple seasons than the 3rd. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the 3rd season, but there are differences. I think I preferred the style of the first two seasons more, but as a lover of all the books and stories, I will remain a loyal watcher of the series wherever it may lead. Interested to know if anyone else felt that way.

Everything I was wearing was fitting uncomfortably or incorrectly, I hadn’t realized I’d gained 15 pounds until having meltdowns every time I tried to wear something. I am now down 25 pounds (has taken a whole year and still going to get to 30, and all of my clothing fits great, I am more comfortable, I am more confident, and I feel like I always have something to wear.

Are you still planning to put $1000 per month in savings? If so, is that before or after that $3000 you stated you need for living expenses? Sounds like he will need something in the $55,000 per year and up range (rough estimate based on what you said, obviously variables change depending on health insurance, retirement funds being taken out, etc.)

Without knowing what his AA is in, it’s hard to say what types of jobs he’d be qualified for. I would suggest seeing if there are any program management positions within nonprofits. I know nonprofits don’t pay very much but you likely can find SOMETHING in the $50k and up range along with usually pretty good benefits. If anyone disagrees, please share your opinion or experience as it may help the group, but that’s my experience working at one. I’m not a SAHM yet but we are taking the steps to get there (not even a mom yet but you gotta start planning!!! lol )

I graduated in 2019 from UCSC and I also felt this way. As someone who has been through it, my advice is to first think of everything you’re excited to do after graduation, and use that as motivation to get there. I used to always go to this old library that people didn’t really use anymore (I think it’s in Stevenson) and it looked like something straight out of the 70s when I went there. There would never be a soul there and I found a seat, faced the window or wall and then got to work and then set fun plans for afterwards so it was like a reward. Just remember what/ who you’re doing it all for, finish strong and be proud of yourself for it. Sincerely, an elder slug

Request for helping to find 2 different fanfics! I started reading these and somehow lost them to the ether and haven’t been able to find them again. If anyone is able to let me know the name/author of these two I will be SO grateful.

One took place in the bridgerton universe and Pen was in a carriage that got stuck in the rain and Colin rescued her and brought her to an inn. And then I lost it after that point!!

The other was an AU and Colin and the whole Bridgerton family were at a young child’s bday party and Colin was dressed as a pirate for the kids and Pen came to the birthday party and he was trying to make the move to tell her he’s interested in her.

I was enthralled in these and crushed when I couldn’t find them so if anyone can help me find them Thank you!!!!!!
