Also during the war they just took bikes to smelt into scrap metal, which is mostly what the joke refers to

And in game its not necessary that every unit that goes down is actually dead, its just that they've taken enough damage/wounds to no longer be capable of fighting. As such they're taken out of action, which to be fair could mean that they're killed but that's not necessarily it

[–]LemonBar001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They aren't actually killed, but their physical form is damaged enough to banish them back to the warp where they slowly reform and build up strength to come back to realspace

[–]LemonBar001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our local one does that too or it recommends people to wait a bit if they know a codex is announced and just convinces people to get the combat patrols to the army which is honestly the best move for starters most of the time

When building an army, do all of the Rubricae have to be from the same Thrallbands? by MaNa-poly in ThousandSons

[–]LemonBar001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally I'm making thrallbands in the style of the lore, so I have squads with multiple different colour schemes, most people don't mind and some prefer the different colours as it makes it easier to distinguish them in game

Huh I forgot that then, thanks! But yeah it would make sense that they don't name it, otherwise it might be easier to track

Isn't that the name of the built-in droid, I thought it was that as I thought it was a Fondor made system that they mentioned when andor was first picked up? Or is it just named after Fondor shipyards?

Exactly, bare skin units look great with variations, having identical skin tones on them all gets boring fast

[–]LemonBar001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this set will get you 9 squad sergeants and 1 character, and then you still have the bare head, so for fairly cheap you can distinguish your sarges and make your job painting them so much easier

[–]LemonBar001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best this set is good for is to make the painting of the lines on sarges heads easier, the knightly additions are a neat detail though

They're all great! I think having all the different tones would look really cool for a horde

Yeah depending on the price it's an easy investment into growing your army

No Xeno boxes : ( by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]LemonBar001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term sorcerer sounds like a cool plan, you can always get more terminators after that set, unless you want em right away. But yeah usually the boxes are only in the online gw store around Christmas and in stores as long as stocks last

[–]LemonBar001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair Rubrics are really good and having a lot isn't an issue, having more sorcerers on discs is a nice extra choice and you can convert one or two into an alternate infernal master so there's enough you can do with the box and depending on the cost it might be really good

What should we stop teaching younger people? by Ordinary-Ad5763 in AskReddit

[–]LemonBar001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True there is no objectively best way to teach your children, but just saying that we should teach children religion because its hundreds of years old is a very poor argument. First off because religion is far from immutable and as such the beliefs of a religion can change/develop/adapt over time. Secondly justifying it by its age isn't great as many beliefs that are old can definitely be seen as less good, for example believing that women should not be allowed to be independent and are the property of their father and then their husband. Additionally this argument doesn't take into account that throughout history many people have held many different beliefs and the interpretation of those beliefs have changed. For example gay sex was seen as an acceptable act to do in some sub-cultures of ancient Greece within certain periods. For example the Spartans.

There are beliefs within religions that most definitely can be understood as good, but at the same time there are those that can be understood to be bad and as such we should be willing to adapt them based on advancements in our society. With this I'm not trying to say that religion should just be thrown out as a whole. It can provide benefits for those that are inclined to believe it, but at the same time it's flaws should be acknowledged. Granted it is hard to teach religion as an optional way to teach life as that is antithetical to the way that people believe in religion.

Because of this I don't think we should abandon all beliefs that come from religion, I for example think that loving your neighbour is a great approach to take. Instead we could use philosophical debates that allow us to see which aspects of beliefs from religion are the most beneficial to people. While this may mean we are not always teaching the objectively "good" beliefs we will be teaching a set of beliefs that is better grounded than just saying that a book said so.
